| Where to go to install an Auxiliary cable in car?
Hi there,
My sister has a 2004 BMW 3series that only has the stock CD deck. She really wants an auxiliary cable input and I looked up how to install one and although it seems relatively easy, I feel I would still mess up something, and would rather get a "professional" to do it.
Does anyone know any shops that do this?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

i installed the factory bmw aux input in my 04 e46. its dead simple to do you just plug it in at the back of the factory deck and you can route the cable wherever you want. however after about a year it sometimes cuts out for no reason. so im actually not too happy with it.

It's quite easy of a DIY.
1) Use a panel popper or a screwdriver with towels if you're careful.
2) Pry the dash trim at passenger side first near the door, then the middle dash trim.
3) Remove the two Philips head screws on both sides of the head unit.
4) head unit slides right out, plug cable on the back
5) route the AUX cable anywhere, some do it towards the glovebox, some drill a hole in the ash tray
6) tuck the head unit wires back to the left back corner and reinstall the screws and trims
Whole process should take about 30 mins or less
