I had this drink once under the impression it was too wild of a concept, but it was pretty delicious.

Does it taste best with a specific type of milk? (i.e. skim / 1% / 2% / homo etc.)

Locally I'd just use 2% although i've never experimented closely to tell the difference. In Hong Kong there is a cha chan teng that uses hokkaido milk and its :sweetjesus:

Bizarre combo. I love Schweppes cream soda as is... but with milk? I'd have to give this a try...

Buddy, you are missing out. I'd usually just fill cup 55% to 60% of milk and top the rest with cream soda, just so its more on the creamier side. Let me know what you think:hotbaby:

you guy's sound like noobs. i honestly always thought this was an EI thing. we call it doudhsoda (soda milk). i've always found it works the best with a thicker milk, so use 2%. try it with different brands of cream soda as well. for years, i only ever made it using crush cream soda.

i agree. it's always worked out better for me pouring the milk in first. 60% milk is the sweet spot i think.

Galactic_Phantom 06-13-2015 12:25 AM

other than crush what other brands have you found that tastes good?

Gucci Mane 06-13-2015 12:33 AM

well i tend to like things on the sweeter side so crush has always been my favorite. jones soda works quite well. the best is just to buy a few cans of cream soda's and see which combo works the best for you.

Manic! 06-13-2015 01:06 AM

White people lol!!! Coke is good too.

SoulCrusher 06-13-2015 09:28 AM

Dud-soda. Thought only us brown folk did it.

Ikkaku 06-13-2015 09:57 AM

Nope. Parents have been drinking schwepps and a certain brand of milk (that i can't recall) since they were kids in Hong Kong.

Galactic_Phantom 06-13-2015 11:04 AM

^Kowloon Dairy?
Good to see this more than just a Honger thing. Too bad its not really appreciated in Canada

Lowered_Klass 06-13-2015 11:17 AM

I've never thought to try cream soda! I can't wait to try this.

Growing up, my Dad used to make my sister and I drinks with Coke/Milk mix, and even Root Beer/Milk.

And we're a bunch of white folk lol...not that it matters, this just seemed like such a white thing to do :lol

Dude, you're brown? Not that it matters.

Anyway, when I was in elementary school the only brown kid in the entire school (Strathcona) made us this drink (pop and milk). It was awesome. His last name was Sodhi. We coined the drink, "Sodhi Pop." So, it's been around a long time.

If you're old enough to remember Laverne and Shirley, Pepsi and Milk is Laverne's favorite drink.

No

willystyle 06-13-2015 08:12 PM

What are the ratios?

SkinnyPupp 06-13-2015 09:18 PM

Cream Soda from scratch has been prepared with real cream for many decades if not over 100 years... it's not a HK thing or an Indian thing.

Try it with cream instead of milk, even better :sweetjesus:

60% milk and 40% soda usually works good it matters how sweet you like your drink

Galactic_Phantom 06-13-2015 11:51 PM

So I just tried it with coke today using the same formula and its doesn't really work lol. With cream soda it blends really well (cream soda, duh!), adding layers to the milk and enhancing the flavour even more. It just makes the drink more 'complete' whereas coke it does nothing for me lol

I've always used cream soda and when this white person told me to try it i was like wtf... it wasn't bad to be honest.

Hot Karl 06-14-2015 07:56 AM
