Brandon Sutter will return to the Vancouver Canucks' lineup Tuesday against the Nashville Predators after missing the last 33 games with a sports hernia.
The 26-year-old centre suffered the abdominal injury in November before undergoing surgery in early December.
Sutter practised with the team on the Canucks' recent road trip and looks set to replace the injured Henrik Sedin on the top line between Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen against Nashville.
Vancouver acquired Sutter in a trade with Pittsburgh in June before signing him to a five-year deal worth US$21.875 million in August.
Sutter, who has four goals and four assists in 16 games this season, should help in the faceoff circle and on the penalty kill, where the Canucks rank 20th.
Mike Zalewski sent back to Utica to make room for Sutter.

It's nice to get Sutter back, but considering this is the final game before the all-star break, I would've rather had him sit this out to get that extra week of recovery.
Lucic should sign with the canucks if he ever wants to be accpeted by Vancouver again
He aint no Messier. He won the cup and was gonna held his day with the cup at kits but butt hurt fans made him cancel the event
I don't think he cares about what the people of Vancouver think about him. It's the idiots who heckled his family, defaced his church and tried to fight him downtown that need to change.
Quite possibly the skate jersey will make another return next season.
When they first introduced the millionaires jerseys 3 years ago, it was just for the Detroit game. Season after it was for heritage classic, then last year for like the 100th anniversary against the Avs.

Canucks team store said their not getting any reebok version of the skate logo and will only release authentic ones. Ordering 150 jerseys in total... Anahiem didnt release the mighty ducks jersey in reebok replica versions either
