Kinda lame. Thought it was always just the index finger to signify that you're #1. So when Henri Richard won his 11th cup, did he have to raise his toe too?

Depending on how the off season goes, you never know if it's going to be a lost year or not. Injuries, puck luck, young players outplaying veterans. You never know. Just look at Calgary. Was doubted all year all the way to the playoffs. They beat us without their number 1 defenceman too.

Maybe Kassian / Edler will finally wake the fuck up and play with an edge and scoring?

Maybe Bonino will be able to buy a goal?

Burrows playing like the 20-30 goalscorer.

Maybe Willie will make Sbisa play in the kitchen instead and bake some pizzas?

Offseason will be interesting because we might lose 2 bottom 6 guys who chipped in a lot last season, Matthias and Richardson.

Benning on the TSN1040 said Matthias will try the free agent market and they will try to resign Richardson.

It's a bunch of "Maybes" and "What if's".

We need to ship the guys who can bring us back the most value. I love Hammer, he's been one of our best d-men for a long time, buts its time to let him go. It needs to be done ASAP while he's still got gas in the tank. We are not in contention for a Stanley Cup. Anything can happen, but its highly unlikely we'll see much of playoffs in the near future.

Just look at the teams in the west. How the fuck are we going to compete with that with our old ass core? We lost to Calgary ffs. We need to learn from them.

The sad thing is our money hungry ownership. I think they care more about dollar signs than winning a cup.

That was a foregone conclusion...Matthias would be stupid not to try the FA market.
He's gonna get paid a ridiculous amount of money and have a disappointing season next year that's pretty much written in stone.

highfive...yeah, ten years ago i might've agreed with you. But i've just got a habit of expecting the worst cus with this team, chances are that'll be the norm.

Eldler... Come on how many seasons have we been waiting for him to play with an edge now? He's not going to change.

Hamhuis is our steadiest guy but he always gets hurt at important times either during the season or in the playoffs. That pretty much kills his usefulness. That said, I believe (anyone have stats?) we have a fucking brutal record when he doesn't play.

there should be no untouchables when it comes to trading any of our veterans for prospects and draft picks (NTC's aside)

Only untouchables going forward should be Horvat, Virtanen, Shinkaruk, Baertschi, Cassels, McCann, Demko

Take this with a huge grain of salt but a reputable poster over on hfboards says that he is hearing Lack to the Oilers for a Second round pick (33).

With the relationship between benning and chiarelli, and bennings interview today about keeping Miller and that he wants a second for this upcoming draft. I can see this happening
