| Noob Question: DVD Formats
Hi Revscene,
I am looking to buy a DVD as a Christmas gift for a friend living in Asia (Macau specifically.) So far, I am able to find the US version of the DVD, but not one that is region specific to Asia.
Do the DVD regions apply to computers/laptops/tablets or only to DVD players? Sorry for the noob question. Thanks in advance!

Most DVD players that were produced during the last decade comes region free as default. I wouldn't worry too much.

People still use DVDs?
But yeah in Macau their DVD player, if they still have one, will most likely be region free.

Look for the VHS version. Then you wouldn't have this region lock problem.

if they're using their computer/laptop/tablet then just download anydvd for them, it'll bypass the region code
for the price of the dvd you might be able to get them a blu-ray player they're like $20-$30 now superstore no tax days |

I was recently given a music CD as a gift and there's nothing I can do with it, unless I take my PS3 out of storage and play it through that... A better option is to pirate the MP3s |
