2016 Pacific Riding School group lessons sign up - RS special

Just seeing if anyone is interested in signing up with PRS as a group this coming year. Will contact PRS for group rates if we have enough interest.

1. iamkelee
2. !e.lo_
3. Vvd (possibly plus 1)
4. iHeat
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

On a side note, I had to sign up for a new account for some reason. Was a member since 2002 but haven't logged in for years. Kind of peeved by that.

EDIT: Below are the discount rates provided by ?NR

PRS will accept usual payment methods instead of cash only.

REVscene.net referral rate: $25 off per person

REVscene.net group rate for 3 or more : $50 off person, cannot be combined with referral rate.

Please register in person or online, and list the member's name in your group, or the person you are referring so they can track. As i understand it if you are referring one other friend, or any number under 3 person then it will be $25 off each.

everyone that uses this gracious club discount must provide REVscene decal or lanyard as proof when registering, to identify yourself as a member.

If you do not have any of those, stay tuned as I will be relaunching the decal and lanyard program with added incentives for 2016. Partial costs of the lanyards and decals will be donated to charity or into John Norwich Riders Foundation for future riders training or events.

More info? Is this advanced street riding? Or a spring warm up. Is this track day schooling with instructors? Even a copy/paste would be nice.

My gf and I should take some advanced learning this year

It's for the motorcycle skills assessment course. I read through the 2015 threas and seems like they can take off $50 per person as long as we have 3+ people. Might be able to secure a better discount if we get more. I'll update the thread with more info if we can get enough signed up.

I see that your location says you're in Burnaby, have you considered 1st Gear? They're located in Richmond (Behind the home de pot) both schools provide the same bikes and instructors come from the same background. 1st gear was closer for me so I went that route.

PRS's offer for REVScene members :

For their motorcycle course from MST to full Class 6, if you register in groups of 3 or more, each person will save $50 off their regular program cost. Show a sticker or lanyard when registering in person. Cash only (to reduce unnecessary payment processing costs).

from February 2016

Thanks NR! We only need 3!

I chose PRS bc my buddy went through it last year and have a very positive experience. He ended up buying me a $50 voucher for Christmas so I figured I'll just go to PRS too.

Considering I am alive thanks to PRS I have to say this program is hugely recommended. Rode dirtbikes and flew Cessnas as a kid. The program is almost identical to flying schools. A lot of thought in the curriculum and there is a lot to learn for any new rider! Get your full license in a week, grab a 1000cc and join us on our Squam runs!

I just took this course at the end of October, would have been nice to know of the Revscene discount. But all things considered, it's well worth the price.

the course is a must have. Great instructors at PRS. Dropped the bike in their lot. But I'm glad it was with an instructor there. Had a bee fly into my helmet our first ride out on the streets and I shook my head like I was possessed. I would do it all over again.

I don't think we need to be in the same class to get the discount. We're good as long as we provide two other people's names when we sign up so they can track it on their end.

Btw updated your name on the original post. PM me if you want it removed.

They are a very good team, very open and friendly. As a bonus you get to be a PRS member for life, you get to access their tents and snacks whenever PRS is at an event (race or other).

Interested in signing up. Does anyone know if I need to have a motorcycle learner's licence when I register, or could I delay doing the knowledge test and getting the license until my course starts?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies. I plan on taking the course with PRS some time during May/June so I'll proceed to register once I get my learners license.

I'm sure you need to have your written knowledge test done before they let you take the course but you can probably sign up without it

I would get the written test done as soon as you can. They sign off on your skills test (a sort of road/competency test) if you pass it near the end of the course.
It also helps to have a full class 5 before you get your class 6/6L, as you bypass some restrictions when you pass your MST.
They do require you to have it for the road rides, and I'm sure they would expect you to have it when your course starts.

Having your written test done is mandatory. You'll need to present it to them on your first day.
