OLD CANADIAN DOLLAR BILLS

Just wondering if there is a real market for these (excluding ebay)
I have a mint crisp condition
1975 $100 bill
and 8 1988 $100 bills

3 of the 8 bills are consecutive numbers..

Wondering, if anyone has insite

I think they are only worth face value.

I have few $1000 bills and did some research, you need a specific serial number for it to be worth a lot

That and just about any type of imperfection will disqualify them from being any collector status. You can always bring them to a coin collector shop to see if they'll be of any value.

All Nations Stamp and Coin.

Collect stamps and coins - welcome - All Nations

Just call and describe what you have. Like mentioned previously, collectors go for crisp, uncirculated copies. Consecutive serial numbers is a plus, but in multiples of 5's or 10's.

I'm more a stamp guy than a coin guy. I dout they are worth more than face.

My father collects coins/paper bills as a side hobby.

Depending on the serial numbers at the bottom, a simple 20$ bill can be worth 10x its value. Example - if the serial number has an X in it or an *, it means that the original bill was botched during process and the X/* stands as a replacement bill.

Another is a 20$ bill. Look up "devils face 20$". Chances are you'll never find one in circulation, but can be bought online from other sellers. My guess is that their value won't go down, only up.

But, a crinkled up bill is useless, it has to be in mint condition. No folds, creases, tiny rips, etc. There's a book that goes through every bills serial numbers, and what makes them significant and rare.

wish I could tell you more, but time to work!

Coins and Canada - Bank of Canada banknotes price guide and values

Aside from the '54 Devil's Face series, my favourite bill is still the '69-'75 $50 note, with the RCMP Musical Ride on the back.

I remember when my parents sold their house back in the 80's I counted stacks of cash on the living room floor and just stared at those beautiful RCMP 50's. They were like a piece of art to a 7 year old kid. I should get my hands on one.

I have a few 1974 bills. I would like to start a collection of the 1935 and 1937 bills. The artwork on the back side is nice. Same goes with the older ones that says "Dominion of Canada".

there really isn't any "value" to these. it's as much as the buyer is willing to pay for. best to throw it in bid auction on ebay.
