do i not understand how Go Fund Me works?
She's complaining that her rent was raised to $4500/mo.. and she starts a go Fund me for $2500... and it's for housing plus furniture?? How in the hell did people donate to this? it doesn't even make sense.. $2500 would be half a months rent, or 1-2 pieces of furniture..

It's crowd funding mentality. 10$ means nothing to most people 10$ x 500 people is easy to come by. There are some legit good uses for gofundme or any crowd sourcing type site but this bitch needs to get a dose of reality. Unfortunately she's getting supported. Gofundme should stop taking donations once the amount has been met.

She WAS living in a 4500$ place, but she's moving to a (hopefully) cheaper place. The new place does not come furnished so the 2500 is (supposedly) for furniture and maybe a bit of rent. Paying over $50k a year on rent and not a mortgage is pretty stupid, especially with how cheap places are in some parts of the US.

As for why she ended up here, maybe she had a 1-2 year lease and couldn't get out of it. Maybe she had some work opportunity that would pay decent get canceled. There's lots of reasons someone could end up in a spot like this. I also read she got sued for a bunch for breaking a contract or something
