| Why Filipinos are more welcomed than Chinese
I notice that the three predominant ethnic groups in Vancouver are the Chinese, Indian, and Filipinos.
I also notice out of all 3 groups, the Filipinos are far more welcomed by the local people.
For example, the local social media, and various online discussions rarely report any negativity or shed biases on Filipino community.
On the other hand, when it comes to anything Chinese, its always 99% negative news.
I wonder why? Why Filipinos are so much well received whereas the Chinese and Indians have to face hard prejudices and negative associations.

Because Filipinos don't segregate themselves in their own little communities, they blend well with others so thats why people don't single them out.
99% of Chinese news is negative because they bring negative attention to themselves. And yeah, news tends to point out negative stories because thats what attract viewers, surprise surprise.

Because the new immigrants who do make it over are already westernized to a large extent - knowing English is a big part of culture in the Phillipines already. Also looking at history: the Spanish colonization and later the American presence. Integration is a lot easier.

- they don't buy up all the real estate here in lower mainland
- they don't urinate/defecate in public
- they don't create no-english business signs and have strata council meetings without english

-Happy with a job doesnt complain about wages
-Being catholic makes them likeable and bonds with others easier
-Always trendy with the latest gadgets and swag
-Sees white as superior
-Sees chinese as businessmen bastards
-Not patriotic and happy to be Canadian adopting new culture
