Quadcopter Transmitter question

I'm just starting to look into quadcopter and was looking at the Emax Nighthawk pro 280 ARF, which comes with everything minus the battery and the Transmitter or controller whatever it is called. I don't really need a good transmitter as i'm just starting and want something affordable. Will they all work as long as they have the right 2.4 frequency? The link to the quadcopter is on the bottom. Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Edit: Just realized the kit doesn't come with a receiver. But still want to know if I bought a receiver does the brand have to be the same as the control? Thanks.
