Interesting article- how to avoid speeding tickets

I came across this article.. pretty interesting! There are other ways too.. I remember once my friend was caught speeding and he just told thew officer that he's a locksmith and that a woman client had called him saying that her daughter was locked inside the house. Hilarious.

Cops have heard almost every lie used to try to get out of a ticket. My favourite used to be the ones screaming along way over the limit so that they could get to a gas station before they ran out of gas.....or were rushing to a toilet...after having passed several rest stop areas just before getting stopped.

I feel like the best thing you can do is just be polite. If the officer is set on giving you a ticket it's gonna happen either way, but on the off chance that they pulled over nothing but whiny pricks all day they may see your calm demeanor as a nice change.

That or just have a nice set of titties.

#4 and $5, how about you just man the hell up and pay the measly fine. If you pay it early it's $171, or you can take a day off work and likely pay $221 and prove that you can't take responsibility for your own actions (something most people grew out of by Kindergarten)

Yep..refreshing to hear somebody NOT whining and telling lies for a change...a reasonable attitude can help decide what charge...and how many to write.
The last line above would depend on your gender, the gender of the Officer....and sometimes these days...their chosen gender...and maybe YOURS???

Move to somewhere where the speed limits are actually reasonable for the roads.

Should try Australia then....unlimited speeds in the Outback. Nothing but sand to hit when you drive off the road. Been there, driven there...

Sounds a bit like Montana.

I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?

Been there, done that...back with unlimited speed limits. Saw a guy in a very distinctive pickup that passed me doing at least 160...(him, not me) loose control on a section of road that must have been straight and level for at least 20 kms...and drive into the centre divider ditch and flip it. Truck was demolished and he was lying beside the truck after being ejected. Others were stopping so we continued. I did call State Troopers later to give a statement.

No...but it must be safe to speed because they removed the limits. The faster you go, the more it hurts when you hit. BTW, the 15 year old press release from a pro-speeding/less enforcement organization might not be the best source of curent unbiased information.

A quick search shows that there IS a limit now 75–80 mph (121–129 km/h). IF it WAS so safe to have no limits, I wonder why they went back to them?

As is often the case, ideology trumped fact based decision making...

So you are saying that the government and all law enforcement, medical, insurance etc groups are deliberately ignoring your evidence and they support having more people get injured and die because of "ideology"? Interesting....any chemtrails or black helicopters over your house this morning?

You have to wonder why they hold their position despite the numbers suggesting that they're wrong.

With government, follow the money.

With law enforcement, follow the money. (programs such as traffic fine revenue sharing are lucrative. Saanich police used 750k from the program to buy a million dollar mobile command post)

With insurers, follow the money (more violations often result in higher
premiums)

With doctors, eh... who knows. They're often sitting in the same talks as those who are following the money.

If you looked at the information cherry-picked by your support group, you will see some problems. For instance, the overall fatality rates were relatively stable, with the exception of 1997. Here is another interesting quote. .."3. Seat belt usage is up to 91% percent, with only a secondary enforcement law.". So, with a dramatic increase in seatbelt usage, is it not possible that alone may account for the drop in fataltiies?
The bulk statistics in no way list the causal factors so there well may have been other changes in driver actions/factors that caused the crashes? What were the causes of crashes in each of the years you listed? Were the factors the same each year? Was there an actual decrease in speed or loss of control causes in your "gotcha years"?

You/they then quota the Autobhan world where people do not crash simply because they are driving as fast as they want to. I HAVE driven the Autobahn and Hwy 90 and other rural roads in Montana.. the only thing similar about them is that people drive cars on them both. The Autobahn was specifically designed for very high speed driving. You tune your car radio to special frequencies that broadcast weather, traffic and road conditions. They have special electronic billboards that tell you to slow down if you are approaching any traffic hazards...like crasheds, fog, rain, bright sun...etc. Montana has none of these features on its unlimited speed highways. Not even apples vs oranges....more like apples vs cold french fries..

Do you know how much testing & training it takes to get a German DL? W all know how many here complain it is far too simple to get one in BC. Germans MUST be better drivers to begin with. Get a ticket for speeding in Germany off the Autobhan means donating large portions of your paychecque for just a few KMs over the limit.
