Kangen water? Scam?

I just noticed I had a touchscreen kangen machine my family bought for like $5000 or something. The water sure taste funny but unsure if this is a scam or not....

Anyone used or heard of these before?

Why are Kangen Water Ionizers So Expensive? Alkaline Water Ionizer Machine Benefits

tldr: It's a heavily, overpriced water ionizer. You're paying for the marketing.

Verdasco 03-08-2016 10:14 AM

Sid Vicious 03-08-2016 10:15 AM

unless you have a old ass place with dirty ass taps you should not need to drink anything but tap water

Hondaracer 03-08-2016 10:29 AM

It's a MLM (pyramid) based bullshit product. The people who sell these things are just obsessed with money and the lifestyle of the MLM world rather than the product itself which is an overpriced appliance. You can buy a nice fridge for $5000. These MLM types are just stupid people who prey on stupider people for financial gain while supplying pseudo-science to validate their claims.

I have people in this circle and they all want to 'meet up with me for coffee'. Pfft, I wonder why? I guess meeting up with me for water would sound pretty ghetto.

Also, how do you just notice a $5000 water machine in your home? lol

corollagtSr5 03-08-2016 11:00 AM

Lol your parents are getting raped for the $100 charcoal filter they have to buy off them too. I tested the ph and it actually does change though. I cut a filter in half to see if it was anything special, nope it's just charcoal in there. My buddies parents thought since it was so baller, let's just run hot ass tap water through it for some tea or whatever, nope it just killed the machine lol.

Hondaracer 03-08-2016 11:03 AM

Used to work with this fucking clown who could never just accept working a "regular" job, everything he talked about were these scams/schemes he bought into

Fast forward 4-5 years and the guy went from being a sunlife insurance pusher, to selling these machines, to now selling fucking "ionizing tablets" you actually drop in water like alka seltzer etc.

As the post above said, dumb ppl getting other dummies to by in.

This fucking guys opening sale line on Facebook is "I know this May sound like a scam" ffs lol

corollagtSr5 03-08-2016 11:11 AM

The young and ambitious taking advantage of people wanting to live longer, hence the seniors. Do you want to live longer, don't worry kangen water 9.5 is here to help. Lol. Then again people are buying bottled water at 1.30+ a bottle, so they use that an example of how much money you'd save in the long run, but don't tell you about the filter you have to buy off them forever to run the machine. I'm sure that ph your adding to the water isn't free either.

Mr.Money 03-08-2016 12:06 PM

$5000 :fuckthatshit: i even feel bad for trying Brita water filters.

!e.lo_ 03-08-2016 12:06 PM

It is a fucking scam. My uncle has it and they were all like, "oh try this! it's healthier!" and I'm like, "nope" *drinks from tap*
My sis saw the machine and asked me what it was, then I replied, "a scam"

Derek_N84 03-08-2016 12:16 PM

I think the whole thing behind this machine is that it makes alkaline water which is supposed to have a lot of benefits for your body. But so does adding some lemon to your water :lawl:

corollagtSr5 03-08-2016 12:18 PM

Lemons are acidic lol
Milk is alkaline because of the calcium. Hence when you eat tums it neutralizes the acid in stomach when you have heart burn.

bcrdukes 03-08-2016 01:00 PM

This can potentially cause long-term health effects, especially if your body gets too comfortable with this alkaline water.

smoothie. 03-08-2016 01:18 PM

family member has one

its useless

its great as a water filter, but completely unnecessary

they can't drink tap water in a lot of places now because "it makes them sick"

:lawl:

corollagtSr5 03-08-2016 01:30 PM

At least it drives them to drink more water, which essentially is healthier lol gotta get my money's worth, mentality lol.

dat_steve 03-08-2016 01:30 PM

If you consider a $5000 fridge to be "nice" I'd love to see what you consider to be high end.

willystyle 03-08-2016 02:28 PM

Acidic lemons become alkaline after its metabolized in your body.
