So his album finally dropped last night and was wondering what you guys think of it so far? It's more singing Drake but the production and beats are off the hook and so far it's a perfect album to listen to in a car with your girl.
Going to go platinum first week especially since he put hotline bling as a bonus and that's going to count as 270,000 album sales right away with the new streaming rules which came out.
In the past I didn't like a lot of Drake's singing tracks with the few exceptions (Hold On We're Going Home, Find Your Love, etc.); I'm a big rapping Drake fan. On this album, you get a lot of singing Drake and the beats are pretty damn good. Lots of baby making tracks in this one, and some mellow kick-back-and-light-a-joint tracks.
I like Drake's beats, and his voice.
But as a white kid who grew up on rap, I'm just so goddamned tired of the prolific use of the "N" word. Now, I get it when fetty, weezy, or kendrick lamar use it. They're pretty hood. But Drake's half caucasian jewish from the GTA. The guy grew up in Forest Hill, one of the most affluent neighbourhoods in Toronto.
Started from the bottom, my ass.
Anyway, word is that he has another album coming out very soon that goes back to his rap roots. I'm trying to find a reference, but my twitter was blowing up on some other news and it's been lost.

I didnt think he used the word Nigga much on his new album lol
def lots of singing. word is its because he lost Quentin Miller as his ghost writer thats why its all rnb and shit.
Im feeling the whole album tbh. really digging Hype and that one with Pimp C
only song I really can't stand is the one with Rhianna in it
Second best song on the album is child's play. Best song on the album hot line bling and that was a remix of Drams Cha Cha one of my favorite songs.
6 originally referred to zone 6 in Atlanta where Quentin Miller, Drakes former ghost writer is from. Another famous rapper from zone six is Gucci Mane. He had a EP called views from zone 6 and a mix tape called mister zone 6.
The Weekend left, Quentin Miller, Moe G left and i love makonnen all left the OVO sweat shop.
Drake still does not have a number 1 track on the billboard hot 100 and I don't think anything on this album will do it.
Gucci just released a 36 song album while he is still in jail!

the more I listen to it the more I like it.. I'm not a big r&b fan but i'm really feeling the beats and his deliver is on point. Just read an article and it's saying he's estimated to be doing 1.2mill the first week so far which is beyond incredible

Know Yourself (Reference Track)
Quentin Miller
Album: Reference Tracks & Verses by Quentin Miller
Verse: Runnin' through the 6 with my woes
Counting money you know how it goes
All the real live forever baby
And the fake get exposed
I cop that Ferrari then I swerve
I cop that Bugatti just to hurt
I ain't rock my..
Now why would Quintin Miller reference Toronto when he is from Zone 6 in Atalanta.
He also has a song called a song called going back where he says he's going back to the 6 multiple times.
I wasn't a big fan of Take Care but Nothing Was The Same is one of my favorites.
Views...it's average. I love Hype but I'm struggling to find other songs that I like. One Dance is growing on me. I think Pop Style sounded better with the Kanye verse...and why the fuck did Jay-Z only have like a dozen words?
