Fish and Chips Addicts

tis the season! :ahwow: weather looking good for some fish and chips

any recommendations for crispy fish? Trying to find the most crispy batter fish around :fullofwin:

I'm not sure if they are the crispiest but Go Fish is still one of my favourites, remember to call ahead to order so you can skip the line up!

Many times.

Their fish is delicious and their home made tartar sauce is on point.

Their fries are garbage tho...

is that place on Kingsway and Rupert any good? been meaning to check it out since its been there for years lol

The absolute best place a few years ago was at broadmore mall in Richmond (3 road and williams) owned by this old Chinese couple for 10 years, it was next to the kfc. But as is the way of life, the complex was face lifted, lease prices were jacked up and they were forced to leave. Very sad :(

Haven't been there in years, but Al and Jan's Fish and Chips at 152 St and Fraser Hwy in Surrey was great when I used to go.

Pajos is up there IMO, the setting in Steveston also amplifies the taste :P

Fish Counter on Main Street. Great quality but pricey.

+1 for Fish Counter

Get an oyster po boy while you're there to go with your fish and chips :sweetjesus:

Ask for unsalted fries though, they go a bit too crazy with the salt

I liked the shrimp mayo that you can order on the side for your fries at Go Fish. Fish was better than Pajos imo

Went there for AYCE once, totally legit, and the fries aren't bad either.

Armind 06-02-2016 10:57 AM

Al and Jan's been around for at least 19+ years easily

My son loved to take the skytrain and seabus when he was younger (when family's could still travel for free!), so a lot of our weekends back then was spent going to Lonsdale Quay. In the food court area, there's a place called Montgomery's Fish & Chips. Worth a try.

Verdasco 06-02-2016 11:34 AM

Austin fish and chips in Burnaby and Pitt Meadows is the best around $7.95 lunch special with two pieces of fish and tons of fries is such a killer deal.

In my opinion, it was pretty crummy when I went for the first time in March. The batter was sweet and tasted like egg for the most part (kind of like an egg tart). The tartar sauce was bland. The dining room had that greasy feeling to it as everything had that greasy stick to it.

+1 for Rodney & C-lovers :fullofwin:

Cockneys was awesome when I was a broke high school student. Now it's plain awful. I don't even know why people like them. Maybe nostalgia?

Impreza 06-02-2016 07:05 PM

I've went to the one on Kingsway and Rupert, will never go there again. Don't know how they survive for so many years.

dlo 06-02-2016 07:36 PM

really? never had a problem with cockneys haha
