-just heard on News1130 this morning that Benning called Tanev during the offseason to reassure him that he would not be traded.
Tanev was part of trade rumours?
Tanev told the reporters that he was working very hard in the off season to improve his shot. -hope that he can contribute more offense for the team.

They said its part time players development, so he's not going to be on road trips with the team.
Best fucking signing by benning IMO.

He and his family live in Victoria, so makes sense. Sign with the local team, work part-time in retirement, plus he already has a rapport with much of the core.

Markstrom looking decent in net so far
John and John doing play by play
this has a Canucks game feel to it
Someone needs to tell the Finns this game is meaningless

Just saw the highlight of that goal.
Very smart play by Eriksson.
I do hope they can stay as a line the whole season, but I can also see Willis splitting them up and try to spread out some of the scoring.

Hopefully Willie is gone by January...November would be ideal then whoever takes over has more time to right the ship.
I really can't see him lasting the season if we go through losing streaks of 5+ games

The Team Europe jerseys are ugly af
Quebec's arena looks ready for an NHL team. Better than the Barclays Centre alrdy.
Lol Team NA basically skating circles around Team Europe

So, what's the point of this tournament?
Team North America? Then what is Team Canada and Team USA?
Team North America is made up of players who didn't make it to their national team? I can see the point in Team Europe. Players from countries that don't have enough players to form a team.
Oh, maybe Mexico and Central Amurica players..........
just kidding.

They are probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the tournament.

I really can't see him lasting the season if we go through losing streaks of 5+ games | Willie made it very clear in the offseason that he was heavily influenced by management last season and he wasn't a fan of it. I'm not sure if that applied to the first season or not (i.e. overplaying Sbisa, new Benning acquisition).
If he has free-reign, it might be different. At least I'm hoping it is. I don't want to watch another train wreck like last year.
