| Car ATSC TV Tuner
What is the best ATSC tv tuner for a car? I want to get one but can't find much info or where to buy one. I have checked eBay but most of them are ATSC-MH which doesn't work in Canada. What is the best one and where can I buy it? TIA

There is no point in Vancouver.. since all our stations are either on the north shore or south in Seattle.. you have to keep your antenna pointed in the direction to get good signa.. Stick with cellphone and let it stream is much more elegant solution.

I haven't done a TV tuner in a vehicle in over a decade. Didn't even think they still exist. I know none of the mainstream manufacturers make them. Perhaps you could source an old unit or something on Ebay.
But like godwin said, you're gonna barely get much reception. I remember when TV tuners were kinda the "IN" thing they sucked. Barely got reception.

The tv tuners from back in the days were analog tuners which sucked and doesn't work today. The new tv tuners are digital and the signal is all or nothing so you will either see video or not. CBC, Global, and CTV have pretty strong signal in most of Vancouver as long as you can see the North Shore mountains from where you are and you're not moving.
I already tried using a home ATSC tuner powered with an inverter and using a passive HDTV antenna from Dollarama and it works good except I'm looking for a more cleaner solution.
Shaw free range tv app uses up too much data. I watched the news for 10 minutes and it used up about 500mb of my data plan.
I want to install the tuner on a Pioneer X940BT unit

DVB-T is a format used mostly in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

Nice map! Haha thanks for posting as I was not aware of this.. I have seen the local channels in action with a home TV tune in through a ATSC tuner and they look great. You even get 5.1 surround sound which was surprising. Good luck getting it working.
