Black Lives Matter Vancouver wants police float out of Pride parade Seriously WTF... Black Lives Matter Vancouver wants police float out of Pride parade - British Columbia - CBC News We are in Canada not America... |

^If so, they're all in my neighbourhood. |

this is what happens when local news reports US news as if we were the same country... for example "and in Wisconsin today, police shoot..." and "today donald trumps campaign for presidency is one step closer..." instead of "for a bit of international news, in the US State of Wisconsin..." and "the US presidential campaign of Donald Trump is one step closer to..." etc etc that type of reporting makes us seem more as 1 with the US than we are, so idiots, begin to think we're one in the same |
Yes.. getting rid of police presence definitely increases public safety.. |
Honestly Vancouver pride should ban BLM, Pride isnt for BLM, Its for the LGBT community, as a close friend to one it really P*ssed me off, how they are trying to use it to their advantage... |
The Cop nut huggers always come out the woodwork one way or another... as if police didnt coverup Pickton, have killed a good number of people unnecessarily murdered with impunity... go back to sleep sheep. |
It's kind of funny, there's a few of my friends on facebook that got pissed off about the AllLiveMatter hashtag because it was "appropriating" the black lives matter movement. But they seemed okay with comparing #BLM to Tiananmen Square, and now this. Funnier thing is they're white. |

Stupid ideas like this is why it's hard for people to take them seriously. And can you not quote CiC. Already blocked the idiot have no interest in reading his non-sense. |

Fucking cunts, that's what they are. And this is coming from someone with a natural distrust of the police, having grown up in Rio de Janeiro. I hope the pride society tells them (politely, so they don't get offended) to go fuck themselves. |
Why don't these people just move... ...to Uganda... ...where there's barely any law enforcement... Then they'll realize just how much better they had it in North America. No system is perfect but these Sharts want to feel victimized their entire lives. Maybe if they stop living bullshit ass lives, then maybe they can see happiness and optimism in the world. |
LOL, what I just read. Go back to Africa. It's different in the states, go to a black neighbourhood and you'll see why. But, holy shit, this is Canada, fuck those BLM cunts. |
The LGBT community worked really hard to get Law Enforcement on their side. Pushing them away has the potential to reopen the divide and leave without a major ally in their corner. Why would they ever agree to this? |
Read this on my phone earlier today and just shook my head while reading it. What better way to promote their movement than by giving people a reason to be pissed off at them. As EvoLove said, co-operate with police and shit wont end with shots fired. A couple black people die from cops and it sparks a movement. How many black gang bangers and drug dealers kill each other on a daily basis, or rape/mug a non black person on a daily basis? That shit's not even worth mentioning in the news...but a cop shoots a black guy and daaammmmn shit just got real! Leave the parade the way it is. I'm sick and tired of their shit...driving on Imperial st in Burnaby where there's a demoviction protest outside of a few old run down asbestos filled apartment buildings there's a bed sheet hanging down that says "we're with black lives matter!"...a protest about social housing space/affordability and they just have to have their name thrown in there. |

It seems like every black person in the states is afraid of the cops. From politicians to a surgeon who worked on the 11 cops who where shot in Dallas. He said in a press confidence when he is not dressed as a doctor he is afraid of the police. Philando Castile who was shot and killed in Minnesota was pulled over by the fops 56 times in 14 years for some of the most B.S. ever. It's common for black people to be pulled over for being black. Eventually BLM is going to go the way of Occupy/Idle No More and dilute their original manifesto to the point where they have no direction, and people simply won't give a shit anymore. |
|
This is sad... An organization is making a request for something that seems unreasonable and unnecessary to many including myself, and we spit out things like: - "Go back to Uganda" - "Go back to Africa" - "Fuck them" - "Fucking cunts" - "They can go fuck themselves" Really? Look how extreme and hateful your comments are. I would even go as far as saying they're ignorant. You don't agree or understand a viewpoint so you dish out all these slurs and insults towards a group who is trying to better their position in society. Hmmm. Quote:

I can't relate to their views nor understand their plight since I'm not black, but I do find these things annoying on a personal level because I've never done anything to impede or bring harm to a black person, so that's where I think the disconnect is for most people. The number of people actually against them on the daily, percentage wise, is quite small. They need a focus like any group does... Fuck the police isn't one, there's a shit tonne of black cops and there's an even bigger shit tonne of actually good cops... But they paint with a brush just as much as they're being painted. What do they actually want? New world order? Vigilante justice? These are things they need to get better at defining if they want the general public to be supportive of them. The LGBT movement is widely accepted nowadays because it does have a distinct goal and message... more like that, less like blocking streets and yelling about killing pigs. Where would LGBT be today if they had started out with marches yelling to kill straight people? |

This is the official BLM Manifesto. Actions and motives put forth by other groups can't necessarily be acknowledged as sanctioned BLM actions. We don't even know if BLM Vancouver actually has a connection to the original, true BLM group. As you say, let's not paint the entire movement with the same brush based on the actions of the ones we hear about in the media or the vigilantes who use the guise of BLM to hide. I also agree with you. What you're saying makes sense and is productive. A little research will likely help you understand their official motives and goals but at the ends of the day you're not telling anyone to go back to their own country or to go fuck themselves. 1. End "broken windows" policing, which aggressively polices minor crimes in an attempt to stop larger ones. 2. Use community oversight for misconduct rather than having the police department decide what consequences officers should face. 3. Make standards for reporting police use of deadly force. 4. Independently investigate and prosecute police misconduct. 5. Have the racial makeup of police departments reflect the communities they serve. 6. Require officers to wear body cameras. 7. Provide more training for police officers. 8. End for-profit policing practices. 9. End the police use of military equipment. 10. Implement police union contracts that hold officers accountable for misconduct. Seems pretty unreasonable to me. |
A reasonable manifesto. Feminists also claim a desire for equality and reference the old dictionary definition of their movement. Yet the rhetoric and actions among many feminists do not align with their claims. Fewer and fewer people are identifying with feminism because of these radicals. Radical behavior is counterproductive and divisive. BLM is building rift between themselves and the LGBT movement, police, and and other sympathetic groups. This group disrupted the presidential campaign of it's only real ally, Bernie Saunders, multiple times. It's hard to say if that had any torpedoing effect to his campaign, but it certainly was counterproductive. |
