what do you consider prime time? 600-700? All I see are the track and field finals at that time. After that, its midnight in brazil so not much is happening

I can't seem to confirm it with any non-Chinese sources, but Lin Tzu-chi came back positive according to my friend from HK? Can anyone confirm.

Isn't Brazil's men's soccer team the equivalent of Canada's men's hockey team?

I don't think our hockey team would give up as easily as Brazil's soccer team did at the last WC final.

You're right, my memory isn't the best. Whichever game it was where they got the shit kicked out of them because nobody bothered to play after one or two of their main guys got injured. It was pretty pathetic to watch, I'm glad I'm not a Brazil fan.

Stay Classy, Brazil. I guess these fans must have just returned after leaving the stadium "to get food."

Quote:
French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie was reduced to tears on the podium Tuesday as Brazilian fans relentlessly booed the athlete, who won the silver medal in men’s pole vaulting.

On Monday night, Lavillenie was beat by Brazil’s Thiago Braz Da Silva, who cleared 6.03 metres to win gold in the event.
Quote:
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach condemned the “shocking behaviour” of the crowd in Rio, calling the booing “unacceptable at the Olympics.”

But Lavillenie isn’t the first athlete to be booed at the games; in fact, the crowds in Rio de Janerio have been especially vocal during many sporting events.

Brazilians must be the worst fans in the world for any sport. It's down right shameful whenever the UFC goes there.

In other corruption news. IOC exec caught trying to flip tickets nobody wants.

Quote:
RIO DE JANEIRO -- A senior Olympic executive from Ireland was arrested and taken to the hospital Wednesday after police carried out a raid at his beachfront hotel as part of an investigation into the illegal sale of tickets for the Rio de Janeiro Games.
Patrick Hickey, a member of the International Olympic Committee's executive board, was accused of plotting with at least nine others to sell tickets above face value in a scheme that authorities say netted about $3 million in profits.

Host Nation......... emphasis on "Host."

Apparently not the host with the most in the Olympics at Rio. You'd figure as a nation, they would come together and show the rest of the world their best.

Next one is in Tokyo, Japan, so it should be a night and day difference. Knowing the Japanese, losing face on the world stage would be unimaginable.

Good sportsmanship has been the norm at just about every Olympics. It's just sad when you see dipshits like that dude who wouldn't shake hands with another fellow athlete, 'cause they were from a country that was at war with them. Thankfully that sort of shit doesn't happen often.

The only shitty part of the Olympics is the cheating (drug use) and poor officiating.

Will there be ever a time where an athlete will say, "No, the other athlete deserved to win. They deserve the Gold. I will not be part of this bullshit."

I'm talking about sports like boxing, judo, diving, figure skating, etc.

unfortunately it's the unsportsmanlike ones that stand out

-hope solo
-judo, egyptian refuses to shake isreali hand
-boxing controversy, judges sent home
-french swimmer disqualified and stripped of medal

Big bro, little bro not running next to each other in the 200m final. There's an American in between their lanes.
