From what i hear when this was circling around on social media this guy has done this before and seems to have something against asians. dude's pretty big so good on the samaritan for trying to help the mom/son...

uh.... so theres a video of a guy verbally harassing a pedestrian whilst filming him, the threatened pedestrian, warns that if the guy continues he'll defend himself, the guy filming ignores the caution and continues, threatened individual keeps his word but restrains himself...

Someone confirmed on his Facebook post that a friend ran into this same guy before. Someone else also said he frequented a McDonalds by UBC and does the same racial tirade there

i believe he stepped in to try to talk to him first and took out the camera after to get an ID on him after it escalated.

no need to take his word, transit police are looking to ID him to do their investigation. they'll do their job and figure it out.

if he's done it before as comments on social media say then take it as a warning if you see this guy...maybe you're not asian so you don't have to worry since the instances commented on seem to be towards asians? i think there's 1 of them asians on RS...so i gotta warn gululu

You guys have to realize that people can say anything, until the police catch up with him none of you actually know what happened.

the video shows one side of a story. Not saying the guy didn't do what the guy is claiming he did, but as of yet nobody knows.

It's not even a story, it's fucking 4 sentences. Would have been easier if the news had just posted a picture of the guy, and said police are looking for him. Since literally they have no idea what happened at this point.

There's a bad habit in our culture of taking the first person who steps forwards version of something.

Like that story recently which showed an old man beating in the car windows of some guy. Turned out the guy had literally been sending death threats to the family of that man, and destroyed the neighbors house.

.... did u? cuz it sounds like no one actually read the story, and simply picked out hype words 'racist' 'assault' 'asians' 'video' and they didn't bother connecting the dots which would have led them to 'a man filmed a video of another man he was following and arguing with, the man filming the video claims the person he was arguing with is a racist who was verbally assaulting an unknown asian lady and child'

that's like me picking a fight with you, starting a video mid-fight, and then skewing the audience of the video with a narrative i may have made up entirely

Sure, we don't know both sides of the story yet. But when multiple groups of people have come out saying you're the POS who picked a fight with them too, then that would clearly sway opinion and judgement.
