ok.. so the next time i hear about it, it will be an email saying my device will be shipped.. the way she worded everything and spoke i was under the assumption i was just going to be pushed to the front and had a phone shipped ASAP as i would have had mine already if i was in the original place in line.

4 days go by.. no email.. when i login to my rogers, my place is still in the 10XX..

contact them again, a rep then tells me that my order was prioritized but on the "office" side, and the number of my reservation does not actually reflect my position in line, and i should have been placed back where i originally was..

i then ask.. ok.. what position am i in now?

they dont have that information, they have no contact regarding the info, and outside of waiting in the dark.. i will not know when my device will ship outside of randomly getting the shipped email..

Fucking rogers uhggg...
Never trust rogers. I would call them and hassle them till the system actually shows you are push the que and get them to email you to confirm. Also get them to give you some credit for your lost of time and the loops you have to jump through. Unless you actually made and force Rogers to do something they don't really care and most likely won't do anything.

It would be unreasonable for me to attempt to tell you why it is the way you do things but perhaps your choice to keep things till they're worn and/or broken would change if you were able to get a newer/upgraded device a little to no cost to you. It may not but money usually is the reason why we all don't drive new cars every year or have new phones every year, they cost a decent chunk of change.

That being said, is it safe to say that the Samsung SSD, Apple iPod Watch and Manfrotto Tripod you're currently selling on buy/sell have been used until they're good no more/kept until their wheels have fallen off? I wouldn't want to buy them if that's the case.

I've cancelled my existing order from Virgin and will be picking up the same device in stores today. I suggest you do the same if you want the phone.

but yeah the 6 is still a perfectly capable phone so that statement manic! made was contradictory...who wants a 6 if the new stuff is out but there's nothing wrong with a 6?

I updated my IPHONE 6 PLUS to this IOS10 and I absolutely hate it.
Any way to revert this change..

Restore from backup or put your phone in DFU mode and follow the restore options and iOS 9 installer.

i already did some google search...don't think there is a solution, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask here..

anyway to stop fucking apple from constantly nagging me to update?
It is annoying as fuck.
I don't want to update. Everything is fine. FUCK OFF AND LEAVE ME ALONE!


The "solutions" I found so far...
1) Delete the updates files from your phone. (Which is pointless since it will redownload it, nag you again in a few days and waste your bandwidth)
2) Block apple update network from your router. (What about workplace router and friend's house wifi???)
3) Block apple update domain from your phone by using the parental control thing. (Good solution only if you don't use private browsing, but I do)

The way they nag you for update and don't give you an option to decline is worst than telemarketer and sleazy pushy salesman.
And you can't even just 1-click it away. After you said no it asks you to update at 2:00am right after.

yep 0/10 do not buy

funny story, i actually got a free og ipod nano from telus internet contract circa 10 years ago. used it very lightly and never touched it again. I think there were some exploding battery recall years later like note7 so it was exchanged for the 6g. Used it a few times and same story, never touched it again. I think Apple products and I are just not meant to be...or i just fucking hate itunes

Samsung SSD, literally pulled it out day 2 as I wanted the latest stuff with diminishing returns because I'm an absolute geek in that dept.

tripod I actually used...but wanted even a lighter version after backpacking with it through a dozen cities and that'll be the one im keeping for good. Things I keep literally stays for the longg term. I don't mind spending a bit more if I know something will last. The OCD in me almost do too much research when I'm shopping for things. My last phone lasted 4 years. I still game on a 10 year old PS3. I have had the same car for 11 years. #timeless

First turn OFF auto-updates in the iTunes and Apps Store section.

Then delete your downloaded update.

Done.

That doesn't stop IOS update from downloading

So... I switched. Went from GS6 to IP7+ Jet Black... I am waiting for Purolator to deliver my phone to me.

My first iPhone since the original.

I picked up a rose gold IP7, my last phone was an IP5s. To be frank, I don't notice any real significant differences. Biggest change was OS10.

Yea mine finally shipped yesterday...

Ended up getting $200 of credits to my account for all the hassle. However it probably took 6-8 hours of continually explaining the situation through emails and phone calls

Paid full retail + AppleCare (notsure why I did) -- came to a total about 1500~ for the 7+

The battery life is insane imo...... but I came from a 4s that didn't last 8 hours LOL



also iOS10's iMessage feels like high school again where we can just draw dicks all over the place............

Hardware upgrade for 128Gb 7+ was around $700 taxes in through Rogers

Has the price for AppleCare + gone up? Online looks like its $160?

Man the 7+ is big and super slippery lol..gonna use it as I usually do with no case until I burn up the two replacements.

Few things about the 7+ in the first hours of using it:

Keyboard is quicker and more responsive than the 6, and my 6 had a brand new apple replacement screen three weeks ago.

Camera zoom is pretty crazy, fully zoomed the quality isn't perfect but if you take time and focus when zoomed the picture quality is quite good.

Everything is substantially quicker than the 6

The screen is noticeably better imo. Watching HD YouTube clips colors are amazing

HeySiri works almost instantly. Lieing in bed asking for the weather, hockey scores, etc there is almost no pause in between finishing the question and getting a response.

Love the new home button. Didn't know what to expect but I really like it

yea.. they obviously caught wind of people (like myself) just destroying their phones and paying slightly more for a brand new replacement as opposed to a screen repair
