in the 8 years we have been doing this, this question comes up EVERY SINGLE EVENT... and in the 8 years we have been doing this, when has this ever happened?!?!

police HAVE been parked down the street to catch idiots that feel they need to floor it out of the lot and onto the street as they leave the meet.

EVERY YEAR we've held our meet, we have not had any incident.

So its a totally sad, and a shame that you dont read previous events, and bring this topic up.

So long as you arent an idiot at the meet, no one, including the cops, will hassell you.

We have always openly invited the RCMP and VPD to our events. If you see them roaming around, they are either just checking out your car, checking for stolen parts (which i hope you dont have), or checking to make sure there are no recognized theives (which i hope you arent)... all of which i welcome!

I dont know what meets you've been going to, but this never happens at an RS organzed meet! Yes, say whatever you guys want, but working with the RCMP and VPD has been benefitial for both parties!

Agree. Working with RCMP and VDP will benefitial for both parties. In fact, back then when I was still one of the most active local racer, I raced agaist, raced with, rode with, and even offered to drive the RCMP PACER Civic SIR in local events. I know exactly how benefitial to the event when dealing with RCMP and VPD.

My question is acutally more target toward the fact that many vehicles that come to the show to "show" will eventually prepared in their "show" form. Which, in most case, put them into what the cops consider as "not safe to operate on road" or "illegal to operate on road". Given how easy our MVA declare one vehicle as "not safe to operate on road" or "illegal to operate on road", it is rather reasonable for one to worry about the possibility of some road trap on the way to and from the show. SInce you are saying RCMP and VPD are informed, invited, guess we can relex and not to worry about cops pick on us on our way.

BTW. I voice my question because this round you host it in Richmond. And we know RCMP is rather famous giving out VI.

The funny thing is most show cars actually are safe. Most of the cops understand its a show car, and no one is gonna risk damaging it, especially the smart ones. I myself have been pulled over several times before. Ive posed the question to the cop that pulled me over (i wasnt doing anything wrong). I asked him, "you see how my car is kept in prime shape? now if i was speeding around everywhere, doing jack rabbit jump off the line accelerations, wouldnt you see more damage around the wheel wells?? 20in rims arent exactly performance." we laughed, he checked my background, and i was on my way.

I wasnt trying to come down on you for posing the question, but more or less stop others from discouraging the event. We work hard to put on these events, offer them free. Its never easy to pull large events legally, with 500+ cars show. If we just pull this off anywhere without permits, rentals, insurance, we are soliciting, and face fines, and possible law suits.

Anyways, we held this 3 years ago, at the same location, and it went off flawlessly.

this is pointed at anyone btw:
SO LONG AS YOU DONT DO ANYTHING STUPID, THE COPS WONT BE ON YOUR ASS, REMEMBER THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO FLOOR IT AS YOU LEAVE THE MEET!

Come enjoy the meet, its free, and come show your support for these events. Without the VPD and RCMP help, these events will be exstinct in the future.

Almost anywhere you go with your vehicle, as long as drivers behave properly, and drive in a safe manner...there shouldnt be any problems from RCMP and VPD.

An event like RS Meet is well-organized and open to public, but always remember to represent yourself and your crew in a safe, friendly manner...

This meet is going to be big...

To change things up a little bit, we will be holding trophies for:

Best Car Club representation, (this goes purely by number of a specific car group. the past years winners are the bcmazda3 guys)
Best Car Crew representation, (this is new, this goes by display of vehicles in a crew. Doesnt have to be all the same car, however some unity in the crew is a big bonus)
Best of Show (This trophy goes to the single car that is most outstanding at the meet. Everyone has a chance at this, and we decide who gets it. Goes to the best car with the best overall of all categories)

On to of the car trophies, we will be giving out trophies for the usual traditional games we hold at the event. Chugging contests... Even if you dont get the trophy, there are plenty of prizes for participating!

The point is we are doing what we do best, representing the Northwest, representing all the car groups, and having fun at an out door meet!
