Hmm, morning isn't usually a good time. My building's gym is usually being used at that time, versus empty at night. I like my privacy lol. I'll keep it in mind though =] thanks!

About 2 weeks ago I was 5'8 and a half, 225lb down from 255 about 2 months ago. I am prob 5-10 pounds less than that now. From those stats you would think ide be this round lil porker and I am still quite overweight but I have A LOT of muscle from weight lifting in the past and just my natural build so I carry it pretty well. Im getting great results with weight lifting and eating better, getting a puppy and goin on 4.5 km walk/runs with him im sure is helping too lol. All my workouts are done at home(workouts using body weight) or at friends places where he only has one free wight that can go up to 55lb, and in a lot of workouts I am doin 10+ reps. I have an other friend who has a bench press and a bunch of different free weights but I only go there mayb twice a week. For my legs I go for walks and runs, once I start going to the actual gym ill start doing more leg workouts.

I dont have ANY weights at my house so before I go out today ima do
4 sets of 40 pushups,
3 sets of 30 sit ups,
3 sets of 30 tricep dips.
Then once I get to buddies ill be doin
3 sets of STANDING bicep curls at 45lb 6 reps,
3 sets of one arm dumbell raises at 55lb(max weight he has) 10 reps.
3 sets of overhead dumbell presses at 55lb 10 reps.

yeah man, just shows you dont have to sit there and do curls to get hug arms, back day is great for working your arms indirectly (rows, dead, bent over row )

while it is true that pulling (back) exercises work your bis and pushing exercises work your tri's, that doesnt mean you should never do arm exercises as so many peopl would have you believe.

i've got pretty small arms and i found they were holding other exercises back and i had sort of plateaued certain exercises. i started doing an arm day (or, i should say, arm half day) about a month ago and it increased my row and shoulder press strength noticably.

Yep arms are an important part of most exercises. Just cuz they don't do a lot of the work doesn't mean they don't help at all... I'm up to 75lb dumbell shoulder press btw and 110lb db Bench.

I'm trying to up my db bench too. For some reason my gym doesn't have 105lbs db....goes from 100 to 110 =/. So I've been on 100 for awhile now (3 sets, 8 reps). We're the same for db shoulder press.

Yea for sure you could do 110 maybe 5 reps or so but you'll get stronger because of it.

Yup, just make sure the total volume is up there. You were doing 8x3, so that's 24 reps. If you can only do 5 reps of 110, try to get at least 20 total reps. Even if your later "sets" are 2 or even 1 rep.

fuck
so it's been pretty much 2 weeks since I started training for real and eating right.

Well this morning, I woke up at 10 (was out late), ate some oatmeal + a whey protein shake. 2 hrs later workout, did some crazy deadlifts, bicep and back workouts, drank another shake, went home and ate a PPWO meal 1 hr later (about iono 1:30)
4ish I had another meal with some canned tuna and next thing you know at 6ish I started getting some abdominal pains and had some explosive diarrhea.

Has anyone had this happpen? I'm still getting some slight pain in my adominal area + my balls feel kinda sore

I don't think I ate anything differently other than 1 protein bar the night before (I'm ruling this out, it's just way too many hours before), a milk 2 go at 2ish, and leftover sushi + canned tuna at 4.

Do you guys think it could be the sushi? How fast does diarrhea act after eating bad food? I don't think I'm lactose intolerant....
my balls do feel sore though, wonder if it has anything to do with the deadlift I did.

pissed

hit the gym today but my right tricep (or joint w/e, the part 1 inch above the elbow) was still sore from my workout 4 days ago.
Warmed up on the bench and then felt the soreness. Made the decision to quit.

Oh well, worked out my shoulders and abs at least.
