With less than a week left until Halloween, it’s about time to stop procrastinating and start figuring out that costume, carving those pumpkins, and buying that candy. Like the weather, the atmosphere is getting chilly, the mood is getting spooky and the nights are looking longer. We here at Revscene want to help you find those places to monster mash this year and give you that thriller night you’re looking for. Here’s a list of things to do this Halloween that will be sure to make it something to die for.

1. VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH

Vancouver is home to several pumpkin patches that are perfect for those traditional family outings that you’ll want to take this Halloween. With entertainment for people of all ages ranging from music, performers, wagon rides and piles of hay, pumpkin patches are a great way of getting a bit of family fun into your busy Halloween schedule. These fields of fun are open everywhere. From Richmond to Surrey, to Abbotsford to Delta, there’s a pumpkin patch close by to you that is just waiting for you to stop by. We’ve got a couple listed here for you already:

2. DOOMS NIGHT 2015

Seems like every list we compile regarding things to do, always has some form of electronic music show in it. Halloween is no exception to this as Vancouver has its annual Dooms Night, organized every year by Solid Events. The lineup isn’t something to be trifled with this year. The recently crowned #1 DJ’s of the world by DJ Mag, Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike, are set to make a rare appearance on the west coast of Canada by headlining this show. Added to that powerhouse duo, are another steller duo, W&W and the first Canadian appearance of KSHMR. The price tag might scare you, but don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of scares for your buck this year. This lineup is stacked to get you moving like you’ve never before.

3. GO CLUBBING

Ok, we know this sounds like a pretty generic suggestion, but allow us to elaborate here a little. This year, Celebrities is holding events all next week with performances by DJs such as Myon & Shane 54 and Hot Since 82, as well as making these events Star Wars themed. Maybe that life-sized Stormtrooper costume that you thought was only good for making funny online dancing videos with is actually useful for something else. In addition to this series, an old Vancouver favourite is having “one last party” and a final curtain call on October the 31st. Cirque Noir Halloween is 560’s last party before it closes its doors and its sure to be a good one.

4. SCARE YOURSELF A LITTLE

Did you really think you would get through all of Halloween without getting some chills down your spine? The Greater Vancouver Area has an array of haunted houses and attractions this year primed and ready to scare the socks off you this Halloween. Whether it’s the creepy Vancouver Chinatown Haunted House, the too-real-to-not-scare-you Lost Souls of Gastown tour, or the ghoulish thriller of the Reapers Haunted Attraction, you’re getting scared. A lot. Maybe a bit more than necessary even.

5. FRIGHT NIGHTS

As we reach the last of our list, you get an oldie but a goodie. We here in Vancouver get the special treat of having the PNE play host to a Halloween themed amusement park, Fright Nights, every year. This special event plays hosts to both parties; whether you’re the horror-seeking individual wanting to be scared, or the one wanting to have a good time going on rides and rides only. You can spend your day in the haunted houses or on the swings; whatever your preference!
