Reverse Lamps not working?

Ive tried everything. Switching bulbs and checking every fuse, but still i get no reverse lights at all. What else could be the problem??? can anyone help.

Check the lead coming out of the transmission. Manual or automatic, it should have this.

if it's automatic...try putting the car in neutral and if the reverse lights come on in neutral, then you need to reposition your....uh...I guess it could be called a shifter shaft in an auto too...but yea...check that. thats how it was in my old bmw.

Same Symptom

No Backup lights on my civic cx hb either. I've tested the switch at the trans, checked all bulbs, fuses and wires. The one thing I have found is that the previous owner hacked a stereo in and cut two wires from the oem stereo connector (pwr and ign I think). I noticed that because when I was checking the backup light fuse in the engine bay (7.5 marked Backup Lights) the stereo died. From there I started looking and found the abused oem plug. Next is to try and figure out if there is a connection between the two... I checked my Haynes book but I couldn't locate those wires in the schematic. Any ideas??

I bet there is a converter coupler thingy available for between the oem stereo connector and the JVC connector... Why do people always hack the oem connectors apart? Now what if you want to sell the kar and put the stock stereo back in:confused:
