Yes, protection will be provided. If it's your first time, you need nothing more than common sense.

indoor range with rentals etc. I think it's cheaper on sundays. | can you rent guns without a firearms licenese here? cause it seems like you can on the site, but i thought there was no place in BC that let you do that.

licences are only required to buy guns. anyone can shoot anywhere as long as someone with a licence is watching.
that place just opened about 2 months ago. never been but I've seen pics.

Does any know if there are any legal issues with bringing empty brass casings across the border back into Canada? They would make nice souveniers.

I think there is. after 9/11 the US export laws on gun stuff went nuts. I think all bullet componets are out.
but keep this in mind. it's a US law export law not canadian inport one. the canadian border people won't care. they don't care if you bring ammo back as long as you pay duty.
so only a US cop stoping you on the other side will have any problems. (and only if he searched the car and found them) and even if he found a few he likly wouldn't care. if you had 1000's maybe.

Just FYI, went to Wade's Gun Range yesterday in Bellevue and had a ton of fun. It's a great place for beginners with friendly staff and a wide selection of rentals. 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP all have 10-20 different rental guns to choose from. My personal favourite was shooting the 9mm Sig P226. If I ever wanted a gun, I would save up money for a Sig.
BTW, rushhour traffic on Highway 1 in BC has nothing on I-5 near Seattle or I-405 near Bellevue...damn they drive a lot of cars down there.

DVC's price seems a little steep.
But I'd probably get my gas money back by not drive down the boarder.
anyone know how's the ammo pricing over at DVC ?
I go through around 200-300 rounds per session usually, so if they charge an arm and a dick it's gonna hurt.
One session at Wade's for me usually lasts about 3 hours and I would go through about 100 rounds of .22 for warm up and then a box of 9mm, a box of 10mm, a box of 45ACP and a box of .357sig then repeat if needed.

Wade's isn't that cheap either. Prices seem to be higher than what other people reported from a long time ago.
Lane cost $15 for one, $10 for an additional person, $14 for all rental handguns in most calibers, $10 for 100 rounds of .22LR, and $15 for 50 rounds of 9mm.
....and of course as mentioned, the gas and ~2-3 hours of driving time.

Im a member at DVC and its agreat range.
The price for a one year membership is $500 + tax and that gives you unlimited use of the rentabale firearms and discounted ammo.
If you are a walk in customer with no liscense you can shoot once you have signed a waver and have done there little saftey course. So you DONT need a liscense to shoot there.
Prices for ammo are
.22 - $15 (100rds)
9mm&.40 $25 (50rds)
.44mag, .357, .45mm - $60(50rds i think)
.460 - $6 (each)
They have loads of handguns to shoot. Everything from a Ruger 22/45- a .44 Desert Eagle and a .460 revolver.
As for ammo prices, i shoot a glock 17 unlimited class gun and i pay around $200 for a box of 1000rnds of 9mm Luger FMJ

Not really interested in any of the typical calibers, all my personal collection are almost certainly higher quality firearms, I just want a fully auto m16, SAW, etc

I have gone to the DVC in PoCo once and it was pretty fun.... If you don't mind spending a decent amount of cash to have fun.
$65.00 - Day Pass
$27.00 - per 50rnd - 9mm
I was there for about 17min and spent over $100 bucks.... but it was a blast |

Thanks for the bump, I never actually thought about doing this in the states
A few questions:
Do I need a gun license to shoot in a range?
How much do bullets generally cost (for say... a 9mm handgun)
It says on Wade's website that to rent a gun I need to a)bring my own gun, or b) have someone with me... does that someone need to own a gun?
TIA!
