have a look at these ERI, SSN, PTA, PMI

I'd choose PTA over PMI, and I was close to triggering the buy on PTA, it looks like it could explode next week. (I'd buy the warrants, A)

ERI - Holding it and liking it!

gdoh 01-07-2011 10:32 AM

yea i bought the warrents at 0.165 and still holding =D

i hope you dont mean a $100+ share is 'expensive', or do you think the PE ratio is out of whack?

i personally don't hold APPL, but do hold AMZN as an ecommerce play, and have QCOM as a play on the whole apple & smartphone craze, rather than appl directly

ilvtofu 01-09-2011 08:10 PM

AAPL is pretty bullish but there's more money to be made elsewhere. When I first invested back in 08 ish I Picked it up for only 130 and sold for abt 160. But I think it's safe, but tbh you don't learn much about trading with them so I haven't touched them in a long time

CT10 01-09-2011 09:33 PM

picked up zagg last week at $7.71, they make the 'invisible shield' for iphone, ipad and all other smartphones.

their sales have increased year over year, they have no debt, and make huge profit margins on screen protectors.

with the way tablets are expected to take over this year, instead of betting on a specific company to come out ahead, why not bet on the only company that offers accessories to these tablets?

what are your guys's thoughts on netflix?
They have been showing steady growth for a while now since 08 and nearly doubling in the last 6 months. The service they provide is pretty cool too, for 8 bucks a month, you can have streaming HD quality videos on your PS3, XBOX360, laptop, computer, etc. Their selection of movies/television hasn't been the best, but it's improving! I can maybe see it taking over from the standard cable companies everyone is signed up with in the future

ilvtofu 01-10-2011 01:32 PM

^It's a good service but the problem is when Netflix started the movie companies thought it was more of a niche market and didn't expect it do be as successful as it is today. Their costs are going to keep going up IMO but I do believe in them and think they will continue to grow although not as quickly as before

I'm on telus optik and when my mom is streaming her series etc. it takes forever to load internet for everyone else. IMO this is a little speed bump they need to figure out.

not a stock i'd own... has had great growth, which i feel is pretty well priced into the stock.

i could be wrong, but not one for me - i don't think you'd lose money on it, but i think there are better plays out there

strykn 01-10-2011 07:22 PM

BAC ( bank of america) is gonna have a strong year IMO.

Citigroup (C) is in a better position, both will do well this year, i chose C over BAC though

auto industry will do well too - doesn't mean you should go out and get ford or GM, but many others (MGA has been killer for me the last 2 weeks)

about f'in time, i've been waiting for AAA to do something...

when are you guys getting out of CUU, CAN, AVR

i'm terrible with my exit points of small caps/venture stocks

BCG has been up and down recently, but am expecting quite good things during Q1... another is BRY which is a different play on drilling... i'm up a tad on it, if i get some more upside with Q1 results, i think i might bail on that one too... i'm not sure i have the right investing mindset for small caps

!LittleDragon 01-10-2011 07:40 PM

I shouldn't have set such a tight stop on NVDA. It hit my stop, sold my initial investment and shot up again... then again today... I'm just left riding the profit. I thought it would take a breather after the runup it's had recently :(

waddy41 01-10-2011 08:54 PM

CUU - powerline and Teck buy back in will increase the SP
SH posters are saying it will be worth 2 - 4

AVR - it's a gold producer with increasing production...I'm not selling

strykn 01-11-2011 08:17 PM

Oh wow I traded AAA last year when it was volatile from .35 - .45 cents... it's .80 cents now :X

aznorris 01-11-2011 08:34 PM

shoulda, woulda, coulda .. everyones been there

strykn 01-11-2011 08:35 PM

50 cent master of pump & dump... http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...170c?gt1=33009

aznorris 01-11-2011 08:41 PM

How about oil and energy stocks. With crude prices on the rise those big oil companies r prolly gonna make a killing like a few years ago

market is pricing in your optimism. just look at XLE. if you've waited this long to realize the bull market in the energy sector, then it might not be the best time to jump in now.

!LittleDragon 01-12-2011 06:41 PM

Go NVDA go!

mas604 01-13-2011 02:38 PM

somethings brewing with SFF and its going up from .50 :) , Anyone looking into RPC? shares have been going up as well apparently something about cancer detection...could be very big.

shawnly 01-13-2011 04:15 PM

I'd be very very careful playing RPC if not staying away from it; pump and dump by BioMed Reports and iHub
