i need help finding a sound file! (doom fans would love this too :P)

alright guys. WE've ALL played DOOM (original)

the distinct sound that the doors make when they open and close. that was fuckin awsome.

i've spend COUNTLESS hours on the net trying to find these sound files.

I KNOW they're soundfiles from a sound effects database cuz ive heard the exact same sounds in commercials, movies and other media.

now ive found the door opening sound.

can anyone locate the door closing sound? or perhaps both again? a better quality one?

the one i have sounds pretty good, but i have a feeling its cut off by a few microseconds on each end.

yeah. that was the most awsome sound ever. i swear just for the hell of it they shoulda kept it the same throughout all 3 dooms.

The DOOM.WAD file had the sound effects embedded as .WAV files. You should be able to extract the sounds with a WAD editor:

(scroll down to Graphics, Sounds and Music WAD Editors)
