Come on... look at this thing... its beautiful. Who wouldn't want this lovely piece of automotive glory...???

Its a 76 'MPG' model, a stripped out version of the normal built for even better mileage. This one is a thrilling brown on beige interior originally (now flat black), has a 2.3L 4-cylinder, 4-speed, 8" rearend (highway gears!), disc brakes... and thats about it. Its pretty spartan, and would make a great little race/street car (the trunk is desirable for this too). It was running/driving and went bloody everywhere, even got around great in the snow... which surprised the hell outta me. It got awesome mileage... about as good as you'll get without a V-tech... the engine ran very well, very smooth and healthy for a 4-popper... but its certainly not a fast car. Not Ford GT fast anyways... maybe Vespa on bad gas-fast...

Now the bad... Its got rust, and a few little dents, it needs tires. Its still dry inside, glass is all good, interior is decent, gauges/heater/wipers worked, suspension/brakes were good, etc. but a creampuff it is not. I'm not going to use the word 'mint'. It is also still not fast. Nope. Not gonna pull the front wheels at stoplights with this one. Fun lil' car to drive... really... but most definitely not fast. With the pictured wheels and tires on it it handled pretty well actually... any stock-size 5.0L Mustang rollers will fit it too. No need to drive around on the stock wheel-barrow tires it comes with.

Now the worst... The engine needs fixin'. It either needs a frost plug in the back of the engine (tranny must be removed for this), or the block is cracked. I really cant see how the block could be cracked under the circumstances this happened, and these engines are known for popping that particular frost plug, but its possible. I had just replaced the rad (original one was toast), added water and it came gushing out the back. Could be a very cheap fix, but i'm not gonna do it.

The wheels in the picture do NOT come with the car. I have the originals, but they're not holding air.

$500 . . . Come on now... thats a whole lotta sexy for $500... and no... it wont explode on you. Unless you are doing something really REALLY wrong...

That car was in a show and shine on the North Shore yesterday. It's pretty cool actually still has all the equipment in it. Pretty sure it's a collector if I remember or a vintage car
