Anyone use a wireless media player?

Just wondering if any of you are using a wireless media player to play media from your computer to your tv. I've been looking into a couple and think the Dlink media lounge may be the most attractive for me.

Anyone have the HD model and is it worth it for divx movies? (probably not)

Any problems with lag or slowdown in video over wireless?

Thanks!

I was kinda thinking of the same thing (since my xbox with xbmc kinda underpowered to play HD .x264/mkv codec)
come across http://www.mvixusa.com/product.php?product=mx760
but it doesn't say how you can update the media compatibility which is one of the most important feature that I look for. And so far it doesn't even support that .264 format.

Hmm, still debating this option. Considering using the adapters to turn electrical outlets into network. Has anyone tried this with a media player to a tv?

I have been running a DSM-320 for a few years. I record my shows on my desktop and stream it to my living room through the DSM-320. It is connected by wires though to reduce the lag if connected wirelessly.

Kinda off topic but I didnt want to start another thread....

I've been using my modded XBox same as Tcneo and I'm wondering if the XBOX360 is better at playing HD/mkv streams? Or if it even can playback those formats?

I ended up buying a Dlink Media Lounge DSM-320 and a Linksys G wireless router and got it setting up and works pretty slick for video. Some lag once and a while when watching larger movies, but I have been watching some tv shows and they have been silky smooth! Music works ok through it, but the media player for the music SUCKS. That is my only real complaint with it.

I don't think that will happen soon. 360 still won't allow unsigned software to run on it. I've been looking into that one too, but I guess for now I'll have to be satisfied with just the regular encoding instead of the HD ones.

It doesn't do the HD video right?

the PS3 syncs up with Windows Media player easilly i've read

but the way I have my home theatre hooked up, it's easier just to plug my PC into the projector than worry about sending stuff wirelessly

I'm using my PS3, works well.

Correct, the 520 does HD, but I didn't really care for that since most of my movies are divx and not HD quality.

oh god, no...

i bought those wireless media players, even I placed the router
side by side, it lags like hell when you play HD videos.
