Oh yeah. Totally. the shading part isn't bad at all. It's the lining that's more of the 'pain'. To be honest, it DOES feel like a sunburn as forementioned.

What I usually do before I get a tatt done is I eat something with a bit of sugar, like, chocolate bar, or something, so that you're not going in on an emtpy stomach.

Another thing, after the first 10 minutes of your tattoo, your endorphins kick in and you stop feeling the pain. Try bringing in a book or a newspaper to read if it doesn't hinder the artist working, but then again I did that when i got my thigh done with a huge piece.

For me it felt like a sunburn. it was more irritating than painful, but after a few minutes, numbness sets in and you won't feel it.

My tattoo is on my back, and goes right over my spine. In all honestly, I thought it felt quite good when my artist was doing my spine. Felt like a massage LOL

I did feel a slight burning sensation in more "fatty" areas though.

I didn't take any painkillers or anything before going in.

my next tattoo will probably hurt more; it'll be on my ribcage lol

come on..be a man. don't let me, a lil tiny chinese girl seem more manly HAHAHAHA

My buddy just got a piece done on his rib/stomach, he said it was possibly one of the most painful things he's ever gone though - same with my buddy who got it done on the front of his shin.

What piece are you going to put on your rib????

I'm getting this chinese proverb that means something like 'to endure one moment of anger is to save [oneself from] 100 days of sorrow"

quite meaningful to me, as I have a quick temper, and i've gotten in plenty of trouble because of how I go flying off the handle very quickly.

I wanted to get cherry blossoms, but realized that it's just pretty, and means nothing to me.

haha word man. I intend to have pretty much all my legs and body finished at some point.

Inaii 10-18-2007 12:04 PM

Wow... you had to get 4 covered? that sucks, were they poorly done? Or did you just not want them anymore?

for those of you who read my previous post, ive decided to get tribals from the middle of my shoulder blades wrapped to the deltoids to a half sleeve.

now here my question, what happens if i continue working out and get bigger? how would it look stretched out a little bit? im pretty sure my genes wont allow me to get THAT much bigger, but there will be a bit of natural growth left if i dont take supplements.

opinions???

I think the only way it would become distorted was if you bulked up to two or three times your normal size lol =p

Stay away from those steroids!!

Shitty about those tats VCG (I'm being lazy...). I'm glad mine has emotional meaning behind it. I'd hate to have to cover it up, OWIE!

Makes sense considering how dark they are. As far as I understand it, the darker the tattoo, the harder to cover up. So something that is thick and black and can't really be incorporated into a new design is going to be nearly impossible to cover up decently. In the end it'll look like a big black smudge.

Hahaha, I think it also depends on the design itself. I've heard some tribal designs are harder to cover than others? I wonder if that's true. I think I read it in a magazine when I was working at the shop.

here's how you can ease the pain:

1.remember to eat before u go in. at least a sandwich

2.refrain from drinking and any drugs the day before and before the tat

3.DUNT BELIEVE WAT EVERYBODY SAY IT IS FUCKING PAINFUL. JUST GO IN AND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN.

read this after u finish ur tat---------------------------------------------------------------

c that wasn't so bad. the more you anticipated the pain the less it will hurt.

final step
4. when all is said and done, light a a big fat blunt. it will feel like the best blunt u ever had.

The guys at liquid sliver have done all my tattoos. Real good job. Super clean. Super nice. Great prices.. (they never charge really by hour..)

Located on scott road. I have 5 tattoos done. All from them. And they are all pretty big (over 4 hrs each)

I just got mine done with Jay at Sanitary Electric Tattoo Company (I know, it's an interesting name). But Jay is really good!

Check out his stuff

I'd say the second session is definitely easier to endure than the first session.

It also depends on your expectations before you begin.

My first session was HELL for me! But second session was nothing.
