Good place for Alignment

Hay guys, Just got a new set of Michelin Pilots Exalto's for our 98 prelude. Wondering if you can recommend some places for an Alignment. Honda wants $80 or so. I think they quoted for all 4 wheels. I thought only 4WD vehicles need 4 wheel alignment?

Is OK tire the way to go?

My vote goes to Kal Tire, store at Boundary and Kitchener.

And yeah, any car with independent rear suspension should have a four-wheel alignment. Some may not have any adjustments on the back (like my 3gee Accord), but it doesn't hurt to have them checked anyway.

yep me too
great service at kal tire

why would you need alignment for just changing tires? i thought you only need it if you change suspension ie. stock to coilovers

I've got 80,000 KM and it has never been aligned. On the last service Honda suggested an alignment due to the wear pattern on the tires.

I held off on it since I was getting new tires anyway. Now that I have it I feel it would be a good time to align.

Yup, there are all kinds of reasons your alignment could be out of whack - even a slight curb impact, a good-sized pothole, it doesn't take much to knock the alignment out if you hit it just-so. The wear pattern on the tires can tell an expert a lot about how your suspension is performing and whether your alignment needs a checkup.

If your old tires are showing bad wear patterns, it probably means something's not right with your suspension or alignment, and you'd be well advised to get any problems fixed and the alignment checked before or when getting new tires... otherwise all you're going to do is wear them out faster.

Check some of these links for examples of bad tire wear:
http://www.procarcare.com/includes/c...dtirewear.html
http://www.kaltire.com/commercial/me.../tire_wear.php
http://www.familycar.com/CarCare/AlignmentBalance.htm

And here's some good general info (with diagrams) on your suspension geometry:

Dales:
90 + tax if no camber kit
around 100 + tax if it has a camber kit

but mine was 109 + tax = $123 total: still worth it

Would you guys recommend Kaltire for a lowered car, or stock suspension only?

Im thinking of installing my shocks + springs this week (1.75F, 1.5B drop), and I was wondeirng about this. Need an alignment

Dales seems kinda far, I live in Port Moody.. But if Kaltire wont do a good job for a lowered car, then Ill drive to dales.. But damn $110 IS kinda expensive

One more big one for dale, speak to jason he was amazing
Knew his stuff, quick, a bit on the expensive side 100$ for a lowered vehicle
The car handles awesome, he explained all the choices i can have, and what i should do.
Its far but its hard to find people who are knowledgeable of good work.

You get what you pay for, and thats a $100 tax in. Think about it, that is only a tank and half of fuel, big deal. People have to get off their wallet and quit whining about 10 or 20 bux. when they spend over $2000 on suspension and tires. People have to understand the costs involved for having top notch alignment equipment along with techs to use them.

Go to Kal Tire and ask them what roll-center or camber curve is, they will definitly give you the dumb-dog-look.

Just my 2cents

+1 for Dale's alignment. The guy is so nice and honest if it's not necessary to do alignment.
