Yeah, that ain't the best chat interface in the world... the video feature is interesting though.
I guess IRC is still the way to go... I made a suggestion to the admins to integrate the vBulletin add-on.
Don't know whether there are enough people that would actually idle in there though...

Well, there's no way of preventing people from impersonating other names, no matter what kind of chat you use... 
I guess only possible way is to have a client so deeply integrated with vBulletin or something that it'll make you enter the chatroom only as your forum name, and won't let you change it to anything else...

I set it up on Rizon before, but no one wanted in, it was pretty slow during that time.

we could probably do something with a live chat... maybe there'll be an api that allows access to revscene authentication system..
use that to verify ... then allow the access.. or better yet... to access you have to be logged into RS.. and RS server can grep the username from the log in and chat away..

Besides, with our hundreds of online users, it's gonna be hard to read, it was already with 10 people in today.
Plus for vB i'm sure it's the same as any forum where it's just a password db + hash file. No /real/ authentication going on here.
