It's sad to see this event will deter away potential Mazda3 owners. It's such an awesome economy level car, I would probably get one even if I knew this may happen.

Anyway, so far, I've been lucky. Nothing has happened to mine.

But yeah, previously there was a huge spike in this, but it's pretty uncommon now.
