Man, I still can't understand why people go through all that trouble. Are their lives really worth the money? I guess people have their own perspective.

I expect it's the same kinda things as with Ice Road Truckers, Ice Pilots, and other such shows: not every day is such life-and-death high drama, most days are probably pretty tedious, and a lot times the drama has to be embellished a bit for TV and compacted into one-hour episodes. Sure, there is real danger and some REAL drama at times, but it's not 24/7.

And keep in mind, these guys aren't doing this 365 days a year - it's seasonal work, same as IRT, so they have to make enough money in a short span to live on for the rest of the year.

A lot of them grew up that way and when you only have to work 3 months out of the year it's worth it for them.

I can't wait for this season so start so I can stop seeing and hearing those god damm commericals lol

Looks like most of the boats are off to a bad start this season. I'm sure it'll pick up in the next few episodes

I've always wanted to go to alaska for a season and see if I could cut it as a crabber. Not to do it as a career but just to see if I could handle the long hours and hard work.

There is another show that those who like this might be interested in. Hardliners, it's a fishing show where sort of like deadliest catch but without the budget. It's boats near Austrailia fishing for Tuna the way the boats in the movie "The Perfect Storm" did.

If you torrent you'll know where to find it.
