hey guys,
what about afterwards?
my car looks good after the wash and wax but after about a day or two it looks dusty already... anything I can do to remove it (like just rinse and dry)???

oh and what's the cold and warm water for ? cold before soap and warm after?

you should try megiaur's quik detailer. makes your car look shiny. jus spray and wipe

Wingman 07-16-2008 03:10 PM

I THINK i have that.. not to sure if its the quick detailer but it's suppose to help repel water..

the thing is i don't know if it's safe to wipe if there's dust on it .. im afraid it might stratch the paint

DavidNguyen 07-16-2008 03:12 PM

i have used it while my car was somewhat dirty, and i didnt notice any scratches etc...

i think its okay too use it when the car is dirty. that's why it's called a quik detailer

Wingman 07-16-2008 04:09 PM

anyone to second that?

just making sure:)

Am I the only one in love with Meguiars products when it comes to awesome detailing? Especially the "speed detailer". Awesome when you are in a rush.

I really love Meguiars products too :) I haven't tried the speed detailer yet tho. Also, if your looking for microfiber towels, the best place to get them is from Costco. I think i paid $7 for 30 towels!! There good quality as well :)

Bringing up an old thread. I'm a noob and would like some clarification. So this is the process right?

1. wash
2. clay bar
3. polish
4. glaze/seal
5. wax

I'm confused with 2 and 3. If anyone can help a noob out, that would be great. Thanks!

Clay barring is just removing any contaminants from the paint. Road grime, tree sap etc so you get a glass smooth finish.

Polishing can be 2 different things. Paint correction (removing small scratches/marring) and finishing polish for a high gloss

yameen 05-07-2010 03:04 PM

So with the clay bar, is it recommended? I'm not a huge car enthusiast so I don't know if it's even needed. I still do want to keep the paint protected and what not, so is waxing enough?

if your paint feels rough, it may be time to claybar. it also removes tar specs from the paint surface. careful when selecting the right claybar for the job.

Depends how contaminated your paint is, when your car is clean run your finger over the paint. If you feel tiny bumps then I'd claybar if I were you. It doesnt take long to be honest.

Waxing will protect your paint from the contaminants but only if you keep applying.
Too bad it doesnt last forever :p

i don`t doubt the quaility, but i would only get these for interiors, not anything like buffing wax off or polish due to the thickness of these towels
