I've got one if you want to borrow it. Just need a little collateral to make sure I get it back. PM me. :) |

Looking to rent one too. Not sure if it is worth it to me to buy one. Posted via RS Mobile |
how much would you guys be willing to pay for rental? You know pads + polish add up pretty quick. I bought mine from www.toolking.com ... crappy website but cheapest PC i found anywhere! |

All joking aside, if you want to borrow mine, just shoot me a PM. Like I mentioned earlier to the OP, I'll just need some collateral (i.e. basically replacement value for the PC). If you bring it back in one piece, I'll give you your full deposit back. If you break it, you own it. :D |
Awesome! Do you know where I can buy pads for the machine ( or can we use yours?) |
You can get pads from Lordco though they're pretty pricey. I've got a few old pads kicking around you can use if you need some. I'll go look in my box tomorrow and see what I've got. |
They are real cheap in the States. Worth buying, come in handy quite a bit. I polish my vehicles every few months. |
I think it's worth it to buy your own, that or a Griot's DA |
Just want to clarify somethings. I can use the porter cable for Polish and Wax correct? Can you link which pads to use for wax and polish? What is a good size pad for a sedan? |
Yes you can use the Porter to apply polishes and waxes. For Lake Country branded pads: yellow: cutting orange: mild cutting white: polish black: finishing (wax) I don't go higher than a 6.5" and I suggest getting smaller pads like a 4" for tighter areas. |

Roman's 7.5 Inch DA Trio Pack hope this helps! |
eshine.ca is where I get all my stuff from, i got my pc7424xp from there as part of a starter kit for around $185 shipped Car size makes no difference when it comes to polishing - you always want to stay around 5.5" or 6", any larger and you can't 'focus' the power of the pc enough to correct anything For anyone whose never polisher their own car before, be prepared to spend pretty much an entire day doing your car, start early in the day....waxing on the other hand, is such a treat with the pc, it's so effortless :D make sure you have a proper extension cord too, 16 gauge, 16 or 14 gauge if it's long, or your pc will run hot and if anyone is wondering about the freebie white pad that comes with the porter cable, here's a quote for you lol :D "i actually used that pad twice. one time i used it on my glass. it disentigrated during that first use. the second time was when i doused it with gasoline, lit it on fire, and spun it up to speed 6. that was fun" I wouldn't dream of using it on any body panels |
The most important item you'll need: a small stool. :D Crouching or bending over is painful if you're going to be doing it all day. I lent vash13 my 6.5" white, orange and black pad as well as a white and orange 4" pad. You'll need a nice 4" pad for smaller areas as well as to focus on specific spots. A yellow pad might also be useful for the stubborn scratches that won't go away. |
