Did anyone else see Viewtiful Joe in that video? LOL |
I played it last night at an arcade in Tokyo! First, I got whooped by some Japanese dude (I suspect he let me win the 2nd round), and then I made it to the final boss on one credit (good thing too, because credits are like $1 each). This plays exactly how you'd think, and it is fun as hell. Can't wait for the console version to come out. |
Whats the final count on the roster? and which character did you pick? Ryu? lol when you do a special attack, does the camera still span in 3d or does it stay in "2d side view mode"..... i heard Capcom has been getting alot of feedback on this from fans saying to keep the camera still and not pan around whenever you doing a special attack because it reminds them of 3d fighters like DOA or Tekken.. im definitely interested in mastering Crimson Viper.. she got soo much potential and she look kick ass in the official trailer.. just saw some good hi res vid and screenshots of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and the cell shaded polygon models look much better than SF4.. http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3169248&p=10 you can change character while in air combo, there is now an air dash and the gameplay has definitely slowed down a bit compared to MvsC 2.. im just hoping they release this on the ps3 so i can import one... but then, each fighter is catering to hardcore fighting games fans and the long time VS fans.. |
guile ftw! i hope u can do shadow throw lol |

I loved the Marvel Vs Series. Can't wait for them to do another marvel vs capcom series and/or xmen vs capcom again |
For those that care, they have this at Circuit Circus now. I was there last night and saw it. It's $2 to play though! Wow, it has like all of the original characters! |

I picked Ken, my character since SFII. I prefer his dragon punch, because it sweeps forward just a bit. I do OK against the computer (although got whipped by Viper) but against the locals in the arcade.. forget it! I did come back to win one round against a dude playing as Vega, but then he just crushed me in the 3rd round. Makes me wonder if he just gave me the 2nd round ;) I want to play more and more, but at 100 Yen per play, it's kind of expensive. Especially when it's going to be out on home console pretty soon anyway. I am going to shop for a nice arcade stick tomorrow @ Akihabara. |
where Akuma? |
Quote:
and since Akuma has been pretty much been included in almost all of Capcom's Fighting games, the last being Capcom Fighting Evolution i think, i wouldnt doubt he will be included in the home console.. Capcom did a poll on which character would people want to be included in the home consoles and Fei Long got the most votes with Cammy close to trailing behind.... How are the Focus Attacks work? like absorbing the hits of the opponents, are they executed like the parrying in SF3? |
I havent figured out the focus attacks yet really.. from what I see, basically it's a slow attack you can do, where you can absorb some (but not infinite) damage. The longer you hold it, the more powerful the attack. And it knocks the opponent down. More importantly, you can use it to cancel a current move, so you can do like a super shoryureppa, cancel it before it ends, and do another shoryureppa for a crazy ass combo. But this requires crazy timing. You definitely have to play more defensively than before, but not like SF3. It's actually pretty much a perfect balance of the two styles. |
can't wait till its hits the home consoles :) |
Wow, Chun Li is still hot |
Abel vs Akuma for the time being, Akuma is strictly a secret, CPU controlled character....... i guess eventually someone will unlock him and be selectable.. and Abel reminds me of Guy, he is just all kicks and punches, no special powerball or projectile attacks... and damn, whoever is playing is Abel in that vid is really good.. |

I just beat the game on one credit.. I think they have it on EZ mode to allow more play time to get used to the new mechanics. BTW spoiler for Ken's ending below:
Ken's wife is pregnant ;) Unfortunately that's all I know since everything is in Jap :lol[\spoiler] |

Apparently there are 3 arcades that have it around Vancouver: CHQ Metrotown 4000 Kingsway Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada E Spot Billiards & Arcade 7951 Alderbridge Way, Suite 160 Richmond, British Columbia, Canada (604) 232-9963 Circus Circuit 1496 Cartwright Street Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada This is all unconfirmed |
Man I used to suck with Sagat but I thought I'd give him a try.. and beat the game on the first try! Sagat is crazy in this one... |
hmm might have to go hit up CHQ on friday and see if they have it |

is it $2 a game? we should have a little revscene meet for this.. have a little mini tourny.. i would suggest going to Espot, but CHQ seems more decent also, Street Figther 4 might be delayed until Feb '09 for consoles to coincide with the release of the potential craptacular Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li movie... http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/19/st...09-says-films/ |
it took 3 tokens, which is a quarter per token |
$0.75 a game That's cheaper than Japan then :) BTW I lost some crazy battles tonight in Kyoto.. One dude is playing as Chun Li with hot gown, and he has this 17 hit combo he does (without using supers). Another battle was against Zangief.. God he's hard to handle, you can't go near him or you get FUCKED. |
