^ looks like it's probably gonna happen especially for SFU...

carsncars 12-14-2009 05:10 PM

Yeah I've been watching the Gaglardi webcam... Falling fairly hard but it doesn't seem to be sticking that bad yet.

If my final get delayed, I ll be so fucken pissed...driving down was a little scary...

G 12-14-2009 06:12 PM

Just went down like 10 minutes ago.... Its sticking pretty hard to surfaces, but on the ground, it is mostly wet + icey on the roads. Going down was no problem with snow tires but I passed the WMC Bus Loop and its like a crowd of fans waiting for twilight on the first day.

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/cabc0308

Weather network seems like its REALLY exaggerating it but if its true, then we are currently in Snowfall and icey rainfall warning :S AND we will be getting 10-15cm tonight and more tomorrow? If that shit happens i'm pretty sure its going to be delayed.. and tomorrow is my last exam............................................-_-

Audi-Quattro 12-14-2009 06:30 PM

Yeah everyone is just talking about that it will snow hard TONIGHT not right now...

G 12-14-2009 07:21 PM

^It's not even SNOWING at my house... and I live like 2 min from sfu.. =_= fail

illicitstylz 12-14-2009 07:27 PM

Came down from SFU at 630ish. First time i've gone down Gaglardi at 50km/h. Literally scared for my life because if you go over that curb and down the mountain, you're done for.

Now my last exam is tomorrow at 1530-1830, but they released this fucking snowfall warning and it's got me even more worried. I'm still running damn summer tires, have to wait until tomorrow's exam is over until I have time to put my snowies on...

*** SNOWFALL WARNING ***

A major winter storm with heavy snow is expected for the south coast tonight with 10 to 20 cm snowfall accumulation by Tuesday. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions.

Environment Canada has also issued a freezing rain warning. Freezing rain will spread into the Fraser Valley and eastern sections of metro Vancouver overnight and continue into Tuesday. This is a warning that an extended period of freezing rain is expected or occurring in these regions. Please monitor weather conditions and listen for updated statements.

...bus?

Yeah it doesn't look like it's snowing on the webcam either, atm, but most places say snow "overnight". Do you think they'd just cancel the 8:30 exams? Or would they cancel the whole day at once?

G 12-14-2009 07:38 PM

^Usually its all day... or everything but 3:30 or something... they will send u a gay text at 4AM lol....

Audi-Quattro 12-14-2009 07:43 PM

Usually if they would cancel the day classes on snow days if they know they could clear up the snow by the afternoon. So I would think 3:30-10:00 exams will still be on if the snow isn't TOO bad.
I actually kinda want my exam cancelled now because that way I could get a better mark... just hope they don't reschedule super late and fuck my holiday break

TRDood 12-14-2009 08:04 PM

still at SFU, it's raining right now.

carsncars 12-14-2009 08:06 PM

^ yeah, raining at my house too.

Did anyone else get this email? Such bs..

For those of you who pay for parking services @ SFU:

Increase to PST on parking rates, from 7% to 21%.
The Provincial Government and Translink have announced that the PST on parking fees will increase from 7% to 21% for all parking rates in effect from January 1, 2010 onward.

All parking prices on the Burnaby campus are inclusive of taxes. As a parking seller, SFU must therefore collect an additional 14% PST from everyone who purchases parking as of January 1, 2010.

For further details, please see
http://www.sfu.ca/security/Parking/

Thanks :D last one tomorrow at 8:30 am. Sadly I think this is gonna be an all nighter...

Yeah, heard about the tax increase. Translink trying to cover their massive budget deficit, basically. :(

illicitstylz 12-16-2009 09:34 PM

WOW BULL FUCKING SHIT. ANOTHER INCREASE TO OUR B LOT PASSES.

They already jacked up our prices from 180 -> 280 this semester, now +14% taxes. FUCK OFF

carsncars 12-16-2009 09:42 PM

This one's not really SFU's fault.

Come join the G lot club :D except I'm starting to see a couple break ins once in a while in G lot... not a good sign.

dachinesedude 12-16-2009 09:45 PM
