Observatory - has anyone been VERY recently?

How was the service, food, ambiance, etc if you've been very recently?

Need to book restaurant for anni with the gf.

Thinking either Observatory or Beach House.

Already done West and Connor Butler for previous occassions so I don't know if I can find a restaurant to top those food wise but I thought I'd go with a killer view this year with I guess decent/good food.

Beach House is more of a casual atmosphere... sort of like a Keg/Milestones feel to it but a bit higher class.

Observatory would be better. Nice View of vancouver, and you can go for a romantic walk around QE.

Lift, right on the water - good stuff

they're not very good at keeping reservations, i find though, but then again, many restaurants aren't

How was the food? I'm not looking for anything spectacular but I don't want to leave extremely disappointed either.

Blue Water Cafe in yaletown is one of the best in my opinion in terms of food. The food at the observatory isn't very good, The view is great however.

i found blue water to be overrated..

i think the food at beach house and observatory to be very very equal.

Grouse Mountain is a bit far, how about Horizons on Burnaby mountain? Good view over there too (tell me the food is lol)

grouse is a bit far
5 sails totally sucked shit
blue water is named one of thebest restaurants in canada i think. it's not that overrated but just meh... dependent on your tasts, you might not see the value.
Lift is a famous place close by the coal harbor.. meh..

food at beach house wasn't that great for the past two times i've been last year

gf wanted to go to 5 sails or grouse lol
can't there just be an expensive place with very good food?

Observatory isnt that bad. U pay for the view and the ride up. Just dun expect it to blow u away and it'll be all good.

Observatory has a great view.. don't know what the food was like since Anthony Sedlak left as head chef. He's crazy talented, even though no one liked that guy.
