Vaguely | Alt. Bell died when he was young before he even met Walter.

This show needs more fan support. I really hope Fox renews it for a season 4.
I hate how quality shows like this is on the bubble meanwhile Biggest Loser is a ratings winner.
WTF is wrong with N. America viewing audiences??

Did you guys watch episode 15 for this season? Loved the intro how they did it back in 1985 and showed what at that time they thought would be impossible future technology but all came true. The episode itself sucked, but the intro was the best.

The old broadcasting model of how ratings are measured are so dated.
Networking television IS DEAD.

If you PVR a show does it show on the ratings as well? that could be another reason but they are showing as being really low.

Figure I'd chime in since I work in the industry and just this last year had a hand in producing and bringing a pilot to broadcasted series, which one of the main duties was selling to advertisers. Quote:

Networking television IS DEAD. | The Nielsen system might seem dated but it is the only figure that networks care about as tv shows are put on the air for one main purpose, to sell ad space. The Nielsen system currently is the best statically representation of the live television watching demographic. Live television viewing figures are the only number advertisers care about as it shows the number of individuals that might see their ads.
Networks can't use PVR and download figures to sell ad space to advertisers as people just fast forward through all the commercials on PVR. Productions are factoring in for PVR by increasing the number of in show product placements, however that generally distracts and takes away from the flow of the show. When we did it on our series this year, we had to purposely cut away from the actors and focus on a feature of the product placement. Quote:

There are 3 categories to Nielsen figures, live viewing, live + same day PVR viewing and live + 7 day PVR viewing. Networks also track live commerical viewing figures and live commercial + 3 days viewing to provide to advertisers. Quote:

While I agree that Fringe is a great show, what good is it for the network to keep it on the air when live viewing numbers are low and not attractive to advertisers. Sadly its about the bottom line and not about the quality of a show.

I just don't think the ppl with Nielsen boxes are a good sample of ppl watching television.
Who here on this board actually have a ratings box?
I don't know anyone personally have a say with these rating boxes Posted via RS Mobile |

damn.. i'd watch the show live if i weren't at work every friday evening lol. it's kind of funny because i leave the room anytime commercials are on. after using a PVR i cannot stand sitting there and labouring thru commercials anymore.

so I heard the final episode for this season one of the main character's dies. I heard they put the body in a casket and light it on fight and set it out to the ocean to send it off.
I know the guy that does the special effect fire's with the propane and he wouldn't tell me who dies dammit |
