ok, sorry about the last post, i looked at it the next day and pulled it.
today, i happened to see a spider shedding it's outer layer as i was out in the back yard. did i ever run back and grab my camera!
in this first pic, you can see the start of the process, just starting to pull it's legs out of the old "shells" : 
after 15 minutes or so, it was almost done: 
then a good stretch:

i was out on the deck grilling dinner and i heard one of our many wind chimes fall to the ground. i had just replaced all the strings on most of them, as they rot over the wet winters. did i miss this one? did copper hummingbird get hurt? 
so after i picked him up i had a look inside the copper "bell" that it hangs from. guess what i saw?
