if you the money, buy a canister filter, they're quiet as hell.

how much do those usually sell for?

if u want an easy, low maintenance and beautiful tank go w/ african cichlids (lake tanganiyika or lake malawi). they are hardy and extremely colorful (if they are happy).

check out cichlid-forum. some great examples.

That they are!
But they breed like rabbits.
You don't want a bunch of hybrids running/swimming around.
Try getting rid off 20-40 hybrids.

Ahh will do when I resume that hobby. Always wanted to maintain aquarium in my room. But i'm so much of a noob, and replacing water and stuff from my room isn't what I really enjoy doing.

Direct sunlight to the tank is not good right? =S

If i have a tank like JordanLee or Ferra, oh man that would be fuckin' sweeeeeeeeeeet! :D

No money to start this thing up and yeah blah

fucking jealous, how much you get him for? i only got a jar right now. and really want a super red.

trip 01-10-2009 09:52 PM

i got my blue at a good price, the dollar was strong and i was a repeat customer. they retail for at least $1600 now and can probably go as high as $2400 for AAA grade. judging by mine it's probably a low AA grade. mind you i still paid over 12 or 1300 for it.

Fafine 01-11-2009 03:30 PM

yeah i wanted a really red asian but they go for like 1g+ id prob be to scare to own one cause if it dies then i just lost a grand.

Ikkaku 01-11-2009 03:45 PM

the scapers on BCA are freaking crazyyy... I'm on there as well with the same SN.

Last week while walking around goldfish street in HK, I surprised my dad with knowledge on random fishes, all thanks to BCA :lol

trip 01-12-2009 02:17 AM

Yup. Another member gave me a generous portion to scape my 1.5 gallon.

Just got some cherry reds today. Hoping I don't have another crash. This is probably my 3rd time starting this 1.5 gallon tank.

Been having issues with thermometres not keeping the temp high enough (had to try 3 diff ones), then having some co2 balance issues. Definately been a battle to get the puny tank going. The 72 gallon hasn't had any major issues for the last little while.

Awesome aro!

Looks like he's happy, hate seeing huge aro's in like <50 gallon tanks.

trip 01-13-2009 02:18 AM

AKA KING EDS? lol

thanks man, he eats too much im trying to slow him down a bit but its so hard cause it makes feeding his tankmates difficult.

i just semi rescaped my tank so i'm waiting for it to fill in and i'll post pictures. having a real hard time with my HC. i'm upping the bubbles per second and im dosing less KNO3 to bring out reds in my plants.
