No, reg force gets a lot more pay than reservists.

But even still, reserve pay isn't bad at all.

http://www.forces.ca/flash.aspx#en236-73

Look there and you can play around with what's what and who's who.

I also have the proper one with different class pay.

But that one is a little more complicated and I don't think people will understand how it works. hahaha

If you want, i can send it to you.

good infos' thanks team.

it boggles me that they closed the recruiting office in kelowna tho, i drove down day when i was off to talk to a recruiter and its not there anymore. it used to be right across the street from the armories when i was an Army Cadet and now the closest office is at the coast

Except for the baked cherry. That shit was disgusting. The fudge brownie will give anyone a heart attack and diabetes.

man that cherry pie desert was the shit.

Acts as food, a frisbee, and a chest plate. What more can you ask for from IMPs

jeffh 02-22-2009 09:18 PM

do they still have the salmon for dinner? that was really good.

and i love how they replaced the hamsteak and pineapple breakfast with hamsteak and raisin sauce *puke*

i still miss the goulash too. and the super dense bread ahaha

They do still have salmon. Or atleast I think they do? It was in a special packaging.

I hated salmon though. I love the mac and cheese from way back then and the meatballs aren't bad. Ham and potatoes isn't bad for breakfast.

gars 02-23-2009 12:43 AM

i miss the cabbage rolls. not the best thing in the world - but man, if you were hungry - they filled you up. i liked the salmon tho - it actually tasted like real salmon.

jeffh 02-23-2009 09:46 AM

^ yeah, came in a gold sleeve rather than silver like the rest

and i forgot about the cabbage rolls, they seemed pretty rare to me tho?
and nothing like beens and wiens for breakfast. gets the bowels moving real good

Jason00S2000 02-23-2009 10:04 AM

I would never fight for this country.

Hell no.

Only if Canada were attacked. Canada should be out of Afghanistan, or, if they want to WIN in Afghanistan, use nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons.

Mark my words, all the Canadians dying in Afghanistan are for NOTHING.

Black SC2 02-23-2009 04:52 PM

This really isn't the thread for that kind of talk dude. Sorry, but start a rant elsewhere.

SolidPenguin 02-23-2009 05:28 PM

Yah no kidding.

Anyway, my question is slightly off topic too, but can reservists get those veteran license plates as well?

Yes. As long as you have served over seas, you can apply for a veteran plate.

What can you tell me about hair length? Can I join the reserves if I have long hair. I don't think I could bare cutting it.

Well you need to have short hair less your religion prohibits it.

So as long as your hair on your sides are not long and does not touch your ear or collar for the back, you're pretty much good to go. I have about 2 inches on the top and I cut my sides with a zero with the shaver.

If you can't bare cutting it, there is no real way around it.

sas 02-23-2009 08:50 PM

You need to cut your hair; I do not see how your gas mask can make a good seal if your hair is too long and gets in the way. I had to shave my side burns
I remember getting my head shaved from some old man in some store in the wack where they sold everything. You had two choices: Either A or B, but they both looked the same?

ahahah

+1 :haha:

They sell those Freddychef (IMP) silver meal/dessert bags individually at Liquidation World in Richmond, saw them the other day :lol

And for haircut, the general rule of thumb (when I was in Air Cadets) was that if it sticks out when you squish some hair between 2 fingers (not your thumb) it needs to be cut. The other reason why they require short hair is because you don't want your hair getting caught in your weapon or someone grabbing you by the back of the head. Girls all have to gel it into a bun.

Black SC2 02-23-2009 11:14 PM

If you're worried about cutting your hair, some of the other shit you're likely to deal with will probably kill you. Go play chess or something.

Not sure what you are training for.. the physical requirements are quite sad. If you have decent cardio (lets say can run a 8 min. mile) and have decent grip strength you are fine.
