usually car testing magazines/organizations get the demo cars straight from the manufacturer. as soon as they are done, they give it back to Nissan of America.

i'd like to see the skid pad numbers between an AWD launch in the GTR compared to a RWD launch with the ZR-1

i guarantee you the ZR-1 puts down more torque to the road, and the tranny will last throughout it's lifetime, so maybe Nissan should have worked out a better differential or somthing since they knew fan boys would be launching all over the road.

That's so true. I don't see the reason why everyone criticize and bashes the GT-R's launch control and its related warranty issues. Try the same and hard launch every other supercar out there from stoplight to stoplight at everything single stoplight you can find. You are still going to break it and you are still going to have to pay for it. You got to pay to play, but somehow people expect for whatever reason the GT-R to come with an unlimited supply of transmissions free of charge.:confused:

The Nissan engine and transmission are 100% computer controlled. There's no clutch you can drop and it's impossible to grind the gears or miss a shift. It's also impossible to over-rev the engine.

Therefore the stresses applied to the transmission from a hard launch are 100% Nissan's fault - not the drivers. The driver has no control except to push a couple buttons and step on the gas - the car does the rest. So if the transmission is being abused then it's the computers & software that are doing the abuse, not the driver.

GTR = overrated, overhyped.
