Wheel Lock Key stripped I was trying to change over to my winters. When I placed the lock key on the lock nut the little groves of the key broke off. Is there a place that sells a socket removal kit? The nuts are fine the key is hooped. I dont see a number on the key and can not remember the brand. Any help would be appreciated. |

Take off one of the locks, take it to princess auto, find a socket which just slightly smaller / ~ the same size as your lock nut.. hammer the socket into your seized lock.. apply torque. |
Thanks BUT that is the issue I cant get any locks off as the inside key groove broke and I have no lock key. |
Just phoned Princess Auto, they sell a set but none of the sockets they have fit. :( |
is it an actual lock or is it a tuner key socket? |
get a wheel lug nut remover set? the head bites into the lug nut and destroys it in the process of removing it though |
Snap on makes a lock nut removal kit it is like an easy out but on the inside. I'm sure princess auto has a knockoff of this. |
The one at Princess Auto does not have 22mm which is the head size of the wheel lock. The thing was that all the 22mm sockets were sold. |
 Try looking for a 7/8's then. |
what brand are the wheel locks? some brands will sell you just the key if it's only the key that is broken |
go to costco, have your girlfriend sweet talk the guy and you could probably get them off for free |
any good wheel shop can remove them |
Had the same problem but i lost the key it self, then came across OKTIRE on kingsway.. got em removed for $40 bucks and no rim damage!!! Highly recommend! |
I banged a 22mm socket on each one and removed for a total of $2.59 + tax and my time. Cant beat that. And no damage to any thing |

lordco sells a wheel lock remover kit made by performance tools for 14 bucks. It a socket to put on a impact that works in 5 seconds flat with no damage. I took mine off with an electric impact to, a plus if you dont have air. |
whats the point of having wheel locks if they can take your wheels off in 5 min anyway? :P |
a hammered on cheap 12pt 19mm socket takes off most of the wheel locks that I have come accross |
