Everyone say it with me: "PIEROGI" not "PEROGIES". Pierogi is plural. That's your polish lesson for today. Oh yeah, the BEST perogi do not have egg in the dough. Egg dough is tough, eggless dough melts in your mouth. You can have perogi with just about anything you want to put inside. Here are some different varieties: Savory: - Potato and Cottage Cheese (Dry Curd) <- Traditional - Potato and Cream Cheese - Potato and Cheddar Cheese - Potato & Onion - Bacon & Sauerkraut <- Also Traditional Dessert: - Blueberry - Blackberry - Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip (My own creation) Make sure you fry up some bacon & onions to top the savoury versions. Pan fry left-overs the next morning for breakfast. Damn I'm hungry now. I got some of my mom's in the freezer. Mmmmmmmm. |
