I wont be much help, but my aunt (who owns a beauty salon) knew this old lady that makes awesome perogies, perfect texture, consistency, and taste. I think she sold the recipe to some place in kerrisdale, but its nowhere near as good as the originals made by the old woman herself .

Hunky Bill's has awesome perogies I'm not sure if they have their own restaurant or if they're only around during the PNE, but they're definitely delish.

Um, they have dumplings/ "wor teep" or whatever the fuck people call them in English.
Not the same as perogies, although similar.

The difference between frozen preogies and home made are night and day. Thats not to say I never eat frozen ones but you can't even compare it's like Frozen Pizza vs Deep dish pizza in NY.

5 cups flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 cup warm water Cheese Perogies Insides.
6 cups mashed potatoes
2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Onion
Garlic Salt to taste
Place flour and salt in bowl. Mix water, eggs and oil together, then add to the bowl of flour and salt. mixing with a wooden spoon. Bogin to add more flour in order to make medium soft dough. Once you have got the dough in the right consistency, mix it with your hands until smooth and has aborbed all flour. Leave to rest for at least twoo hours before you roll it out thinly and cut into squares to fill. Put insides on middle and fold over into a triangle. Use your fingers to push the dough together around outside edge of triangle. Boil and then fry with Onions, butter & Bacon.

I'm hooked on the Chemo perogies from Safeway...they have a bunch of cool flavours (sour cream and dill or something, four cheese, etc) and if you get them on sale, they're pretty cheap |
