Freddy made the mistake of opening his mouth and giving the media so much ammo to work with, they were probably having a field day with how much good material they had to finish up the editting. Thats what ppl are complaining about. Yes the interview was editted, but when u say that much shit for them to work with, u might as well just sit there and let them rape u. Its one thing to piece the story in segments but there was clearly long sentences of information that did not need to be editted. | Quote:

Take it to the track, or some closed off industrial area.
As for these guys, I respect that they choose to race in an area that isn't populated. It's a lot better than hat racing down Kingsway.

ppl dont buy done up cars, exotics and never screw around in them.
you buy a nice car, you put that much money into it, and dont tell me you never take it over 50km/h in the city.
i've been to my fair shares of shows, and you see ppl, burning out, reving high, ripping it as they leave the show etc etc.
if cops wanted to stop street racing.. why make cars that exceed our fastest speeds of 100km/h on the highway, why no chip that limits us, why an engine with that much power potential, why supporting mods to boost performance.
and even with that.. i garuntee that many ppl take out that chip so they can surpass the limit.
and i am pretty sure when people build aftermarket products for cars, they arent thinking for "offroad use only" although, yes they do state that, they know people will use it on the streets as well.
in the end, its not preventable, they are able to crack down, yes, but you have to realize that it happens all around us, hell most of you know someone who rips it around.
im not defending what was done in that video, nor saying im against it, im just saying if they wanted to stop racing for good, we wouldnt be as advanced in the car world as we are today. |
Agree with everything you said. Freddy's mistake was his entire mindset. While MOST of us at some point have done street racing/speeding/traffic light dashing, etc, and maybe still do so from time to time, NONE of us are stupid enough to admit to it to open public. Why? Because we know it's not something the public will praise about, it's not legal, the cops will come after you.
Freddy's mistake was his mindset, in thinking that stuff is OKAY, and is perfectly legal, as long as the streets are blocked off (just like in Fast and Furious), as long as no innocent civilians are involved, and as long as they are only endangering themselves. This is why he openly admitted he street raced without thinking (or maybe even knowing) it's actually against the law. Quote:

It's a lot better than hat racing down Kingsway. | Repeat this situation, but you've pulled up against a brand new M3, and you're on Highway 17 southbound at Highway 10. It's 2 am. There's not a car in sight, and there's 10 kilometers of perfectly paved, dead straight highway bordered by conveniently wildlife-stopping irrigation ditches ahead of you. Whaddya do?

which one of those guys is dumb enough to try that? | Corbin (owner of silver S200) was the guy that was doing 240 km/h and racing the white MS3.
Freddy is the founder of Vancouver TS, the group that supposed invited Corbin to a race meet. Freddy was also the fucktard that admitted on the interview that they would find a road and block it off to race.

We must have hit a nerve or something because the Vancouver TS group on facebook is gone, Corbin's myspace page is gone too.
Now who do I stalk? Happybrowndog?

For some reason, I find less douchebaggery in 240 kph in an open highway late at night as opposed to weaving in and out of traffic in heavily urban areas going 70-80 kph where the distance between traffic lights are just a matter of metres.
The funny thing is, the latter is everyone at one point in their lives or another. The more funnier thing is, the former is also everyone, at one point in their lives or another (well not 240kph, but as fast as your childhood cars could take you).

the media is nothing more than a tool used by higher powers like law enforcement to condition the masses to a very select school of thought. it's been this way ever since it's conception. it has no bearing on what is actually going on around you. to control the media, is to manipulate people's perception on any given subject. this is it's sole purpose, not informative, factual information. it's extremely powerful and all controlled by only a few corporations world wide. because of this, real stories about important issues are never cast unless it is to their advantage. i mean, innocent men, women and children are dying all around us but that gets swept under the rug because this is what they feel we should think is important. stop watching the news. stop allowing your brains to be poisoned

and why did he open his hood and touch his hoses n shit?
because he wanted his 10 seconds, at the expense of the entire enthusiast community,

the ultimate worse, the tunnel being closed due to accident during morning traffic. that would be a nightmare, and the public would be all over "street racers"
No one denies going over the speed limit thru the tunnel.
but its one thing to compare say, doing 140km/h (worse case scenario) to 240km/h when the limit is what, 90km/h?
ive seen anything and everythind zoom up, and through the tunnel, but no one, NO ONE, is stupid enough to do 240km/h, and one step closer to stupidity by doing it, while filming, then putting it on youtube. Quote:

I'm pretty sure if we were all lucky enough to own such cars at such ages, we would've all done 240+ ourselves back then when were still young & dumb.

i aint that stupid! but then, i valued i was able to buy my first car with my own money, though meant eating ketchup sandwiches to pay off the car loan and the mods.
if being young is equated to being dumb, how fucking young do you gotta be to be doing 240km/h?! Quote:

RS was divided on it. Ones that supported hit cause, ones that bashed him.
If RS was so against graham, why was him and his car featured in a photoshoot, at a car show at the RS booth, in the RS calendar?? Quote:
