Hennessey GT-R Hennessey unveils Godzilla 700 package for Nissan GT-R Posted Mon Dec 15 2008 2:15 AM by Viknesh Vijayenthiran http://www.motorauthority.com/conten...15-636x360.jpg American tuning workshop Hennessey Performance is renowned for its work with the Dodge Viper, but now the firm has reworked the formidable Nissan GT-R - taking it beyond supercar performance and up into the hypercar arena. Starting with the 2009 model-year GT-R, the Texas-based company upgrades power to a lofty 700hp (522kW) - over 225hp (168kW) more than the standard car. Peak torque has also been increased to 630lb-ft (853Nm). These figures are achieved through a number of upgrades to the GT-R's induction and exhaust systems, including a pair of new turbochargers, an upgraded boost controller, and new intercoolers to complement the blowers. Known as the Godzilla 700, the package is the second major upgrade that Hennessey has performed on the Nissan GT-R. The first set of upgrades increased output to a still impressive 600hp (448kW) and 570lb-ft (772Nm) of torque, and that model was known as the Godzilla 600. Pricing for the Godzilla 700 kit starts at $18,500, or $24,500 installed, while the Godzilla 600 kit starts at a reasonable $11,500, and $14,500 installed. Rumors of Hennessey working on a new upgraded GT-R have been around for some time, however no details on the specific outputs or the exact upgrades were available until now. Previously it was thought that Hennessey would rework the new Lexus IS-F performance saloon before the GT-R, but currently it seems as though the Nissan has beaten the Lexus to the punch. Nevertheless, a Hennessey IS-F is still expected to go ahead, and the planned modification list includes exhaust, headers, and intake upgrades, and possibly a supercharger kit. This should give the IS-F even more potent performance than its 417hp (311kW) already provides. |

hollly shiet, now if only i had the money to get the gtr, nevermind the kit even |
Hennessey is the biggest joke around. |
Im surprised this fool is stilll in buisness, after screwing soo many viper owners for the past decade why on earth would anyone give their keys to that tool. Sooner or later companies like HKS, Tomei and others will eventually produce bolt on turbo kits and intercooler and everything for far less that what Hennesey can put out and probably with more power to boot. |
Not just Viper owners, he's gone after owners on all LX platforms. A few 300C SRT-8, Jeep SRT-8 and Charger SRT-8 owners have been screwed by this joker and he tried to make himself look like a good guy over on the Challenger a couple months ago until people started posting shit about him. And we can't forget his meltdown on the 300cforums last year.....lol. |

damn thats baller but such a rip |
I've met the guy, and know people who have had business dealings with him personally. I think he’s a great guy and dont know anyone who’s had a problem with him. Unfortunately you get some pissed off guy with a computer, and they can do all kinds of damage to your reputation. It just takes one idiot who doesn’t like you, doesn’t like the way you spoke to him, doesn’t like your time lines, or doesn’t like your work, and suddenly your the most hated man on the internet. It happens here all the time, you’ll see some post about “don’t shop at bobs performance!!”, and most of the time, if you heard both sides of the story, you’d realize the shop has done its best for the guy. You’ll never make everyone happy, and unfortunately, modding a car is “trendy” now. People are doing it who have no idea what to actually expect, or what they are getting into. Add to that the magic of the internet, and suddenly every dip shit who doesn’t know there ass from there elbow has a voice. Hennessey has built good cars for people who pay and know what to expect. I remember A lot of the bashing started when some Viper owner went and made a visit to Hennessey’s shop after he was way late in a delivery. The customer got there, and his car was all pulled apart, and the guy absolutly freaked. He jumped on the net and started telling people that John was tearing apart his car and probally selling the parts! Guess what? Ever seen performance car build? You kind of have to pull apart the car...... Amway. I would suggest to people that you cant always believe what you read on the internet. Especially on the forums, and car forums most of all. Some of what has been said about his shop may be true, but I have never spoken to any of his customers personally who weren’t thrilled with what they received. I have seen a ton of internet bashing though. Odd how those internet folks never seem to be at the events or shows or anywhere else car related that anyone has ever met them…. Good for Hennessey to continue to push performance on many different platforms. Talk to his actual customers who have his work. I would be surprised if you found anyone who wasn’t happy. |
im sure this will never happen |
if anyone sends their car to hennessey AND they visit various forums regularly they deserve to be ripped off. a fool and his money are soon parted |
Links? *pulls up chair and popcorn* |
Hey, not bad. the GT-R looks stock. I was thinking this was gonna be another typical "Timpo post". |

All you need to do is close your ears and open your eyes. If you look at how many times he's had to change his company name "slightly" to get out of lawsuits and how many car forums hate him. Thats a very good indicator that people dont just "bandwagon" for no reason. Quote:
