New brakes for my Skyline?

Anyone have any opinions on what kind of brakes i should buy for my skyline. I havent changed them since its been imported here 2 months ago. I was thinking brembo. I got a few places that are considered skyline specialists but if anyone who owns one can tell me a good place they go to to get there car tuned that would be great.

are you getting new calipers and rotors? or just new pads?

really you wanna give us a price range to better help you.

cnardone 12-26-2008 03:11 PM

sorry just the pads for now and money im looking to spend like 600.

ncrx 12-26-2008 05:18 PM

you want new brembo's and you only want to spend 600$... you must be nuts. anyways, for pads, i think the 300zx shares the same pads. you'll have to cross reference the part numbers.

For just pads get some nice Hawk HPS or HP+

um i hate to say it but a really good place to get it would be P-D-M

they have a good price for 300zx brakes and they'll probably run you like 200-300 for front and rear.

i've got a set of project mu pads. WAY better than hawk pads.

endless for me great brake pads

hondalsvtec 12-27-2008 12:39 PM

just pick up the hawk pads... 300zx is your crossover if its an r32... if your not changing rotors, dont put expensive pads on, cause they could get ruined.. you could get hawk front and rear for under 200 bucks for all four corners..

what do you want tuned?? do you have a standalone ecu??

I'm parting my used Endless 6 Pot BBKs (rotors, pads, calipers) they were for my gtr. I need a paintjob really soon so im selling them for cheap 1800 takes! email me if intersted.

I have a pair of front 30mm brake calipers from a 91 twin turbo ZX for sale.

They would be perfect upgrade for your Skyline. It comes with slotted rotors and stainless steel lines.

As for pads i recommend Hawk for track. PM me if you want more options.

I thought only the rear setup of the skyline/300zx were the same... OP might want to check up on that...

slightly off-topic but the front 300zx calipers were known to warp rotors... so I would suggest not going that route.

Just curious where did you hear/read about rotor warping?

The route I was suggesting was utilizing the 300zx caliper and R33 rotors, you will need an adapter but it allows for larger R33 rotor use.

we have sold the EBC brakes for the Skylines. You have to be careful of what brakes are on the car now and what model you have. You could bring a sample of what you have and we can check.

you can pm me if you're still looking for pads, i'll probably have some on me. and they're from Japan

Leopold Stotch 01-06-2009 10:09 AM

Jun_Y 01-08-2009 04:18 PM
